when we signed galea, he was the best one on one tackler in the game the previous season. he is almost unbreakable with his gaol line defense.
gibbs's attack has been excellent this past month.

Snowden - 860min, 202 runs, 1619m, 505 tackles.

Not much of a difference in attack, huge difference in defense.

This was the frst opportunity Galea has been given to play real minutes for us (The first 60 from memory) and he did not dissapoint. His defence is impeccable and it is no coincidence that we looked shabbier when he was off the field. His meterage does not bother me at all to be honest. I think he should be used as a lock when we are at full strength and a locks meterage is not a big issue in my mind. Playing him in the starting 13 would also allow Heighno to defend at lock up the guts where he is a better defender and allow Galea to sure up the fringes. It is a good strucure to base a team around.

Gibbs did well. I am not saying any more because last time I talked about the guy turning a corner and so on we played the next 2 games and was MIA. I do not want to jinx him again

Interesting stat, considering Gibbs is at worst in our top 3 defenders. Although I'm sure Gibbs would be missing less tackles. Either way, I still believe there is little difference in the two.

I agree in that Gibbs played pretty well today although he been playing well for the past few weeks.
He is getting more drive in his legs in attack and his defence has been very strong.
Its that old saying that props mature with age, well that is happening to Bryce.

Danny Galea has been a rock in defence without Rhino out there. I just wish that he used his line running from when he was a centre more. Just running on the fringes on a under ball would be great. However he has job out there and that is smash anything that is not black and gold which i love. A player that players love playing with.
