Cricket Season Thread

Not exactly sure how much say the coach has in matters such as taking the new ball , but I always saw Justin Langer as an attacking player / mind

Amazed he didn't march out there and hand them the new ball at drinks

Every minute Pakistan is batting is one less for us to chase down a victory , first session Day 2 and the best we can hope for is a draw and we haven't faced a ball yet

And our bowling is our strength without Smith ,Bancroft and Warner

Middle order folding like a chair

I think we could be on the verge of a West Indian collapse as a Test Cricketing nation

To use a famous quote: “someone needs to be held accountable for this.” Australian cricket is at its lowest ebb. Blokes given baggy greens that are lucky to be first class playing standard.

Siddle could end up our third highest scorer

Bloody hell

Isn't Border ,Gilchrist , Mr Cricket over there 😛ray: 😛ray: 😛ray: 😛ray: 😛ray: 😛ray:

Australian cricket is suffering from its own arrogance and scheduling. They have treated sheiks cricket and the one day cup as second class citizens for a twenty/20 cash grab and we and no longer producing a production line of quality players. Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne as test cricketers is a joke.

And if you watched Fox Sports news yesterday they were acting as if Labuschagne was going to be the next Shane Warne /Ricky Ponting :roll

Hope the squad has been working on its rain dances , they are going to need it and lots of it

Should add Justin Langer Junior Waugh and Warnie as well , as least they would stick a price on their wickets

It's going to take the next CEO of CA a long time to undo Sutherland's mess. Giving Shield cricket prominence as the premier domestic format would be a huge start.

Should be number 1 priority and action should be taken immediately to get it done. But unfortunately the $$ signs have blinded CA from what’s important in the game.

Unfortunately this test outfit could get worse with Lehmann suggesting D’Arcy Short and Chris Lynn as rest bolters. We need players who can build an innings - get Renshaw back in the team next test and have Usman at 3 for a start. Use the start of the shield to see who’s in form as a long form cricketer.

There was some pretty awful attempts to play spin bowling from the Aust batsman.

Many juniors aren't taught how to play spin bowling correctly these days. There is nothing better than watching a batsman with good footwork get to the pitch of the ball and drive for runs.

I'm not really following Cricket much after the South African tour.
Just having sideways glimpses at the score. Not really fussed if we win or loose. South Africa really got into our heads and exposed underlying problems in our culture which is part of cricket. I get that. We don't have a good platform on which to build on yet. New guys coming are needed. I can see why fox sports are taking up new spinners ect.

Marsh Brothers firing

0/38 from 10 overs

1 catch

1 dropped catch that cost us around 70 odd runs from memory

19 runs between them in 4 innings

Boys making a fair fist of the run chase

Lot closer than I thought they'd get

Good to see Khawaja getting a few , 10 more Qlders and we probably win

Well 2 less Marshes for a start might help

With one session left i can only say that Khawaja has had a fantastic game.To be on the field under oppressive heat for over 4 days and play 2 quality innings is an excellent performance.
Hopefully a draw can be salvaged in a game in which we never looked a chance mainly due to his efforts with the bat
