Phil Hughes caught behind AGAIN in the tour game vs India (although off a spinner this time). Dude needs a wider bat! Meanwhile Ed Cowan puts his hand up for a spot with 83 not out. Usman made ANOTHER start (25) before being dismissed. Where does that leave us leading into the next test? Maybe:

Warner
Cowan
Khawaja/Marsh
Ponting
Clarke
Hussey
Haddin

Marsh MUST came back in if fit
Warner
Cowan
Marsh
Clarke
Hussey
Watson
Haddin

I really hope Christian doesnt play. I just dont rate the guy and I can see the Indian batsman taking his bowling which can be wayward, to the cleaners.

Hughes' dismissal wasn't a regulation caught behind. He didn't knick it, he just skyed one from a sweep, and Dohni ran back and claimed it

Still can't middle the ball GNR. I think that's what Yoss is getting at.

Am I the only one over the Warne-Lyz frenzy? after every single ball he bowls they put the cameral on Lyz and his kids

He bowled a lot better tonight.

Heat batsman made him look very good

You're a harsh man Happy! Or perhaps a little embittered by another Brisbane team falling apart

I thought he bowled pretty well. The Heat did shoot themselves in the foot though…

What we are top the Shield table Thats all that counts Yoss

Can't wait for the Olympics when Qld outnumber every other state with medals 2-1

You can count on a Qlder

Actually what counts is _winning_ the Shield and it took you 60 years and a whole bunch of ringers to do that!!

Re Shane Warne:

It is EXTREMELY difficult to bowl wrist spin. Not only can Warne bowl it, but he can bowl it with pin point precision and variation. It is truly unbelievable how he can tell the viewers what ball he is about to bowl, then bowl it exactly as stated.

He is not what he used to be - obviously - but he is still far superior to many spinners playing test cricket at the moment.

I wish he made a come back!

Last night was probably the best use of having a player miked up on the field. It was fascinating hearing Warne's strategies for individual players and showed bowling is more than ability, it is also requires thought and understanding as to what the batsman is planning.

Team announced and changes are:

IN: Cowan, Marsh, Hilfenhaus (ugh)
OUT: Hughes, Khawaja

Oddly enough Hughes and Khawaja put on an unbeaten century stand today. Too late guys…

Hilfenhaus was a bit left field I know he has been bowling well for Tasmania but thought they might have kept the youth policy going

Not sure about Hilfenhaus but Hughes and Khawaja probably need a time out. They are not impressing at International level.

Cowan now gets his chance..and good luck to him.

Not surprised Hughes and Khawaja were marched.

Hilfy bowls well in 20/20 but is that a benchmark for Test cricket? I haven't been following Shield so if anyone can give me an update that would be great. Who does Hilfy move in for most importantly?
