FWIW, I would have also chosen the young gun, Jake Fraser-McGurk, as well.
But things don't go just to my plan, the selectors have their reasons (& favorites!).

We are going to need some big totals to win this T20 world cup
I would have been tempted as such to find a space for JFM either in place of Agar or one of the 2 wicket keepers eg Wade .
I would like Xavier Bartlett in the team maybe in for Hazelwood
Starc is an enigma as when he's off he goes for plenty but when he's on he can win games single handed
 
I would have had Shooter McGurk in the squad maybe in front of Tim David. David is a good pinch hitter and good outfielde , but is very hit or miss. I just think if Head and McGurk got going together it’s game over for the other team

JFM was a must especially after his latest efforts. But which bat are you leaving out Steve? Bcoz Wade and Agar are there as cover for the specialist (one player in the team) players, although probably won’t get a game? The selectors won’t change that thinking so they would be leaving out one of the bats same with Bartlett, where do you fit him in? Tough calls, but that’s not the youngest team. Where’s old mate who hates Warner he’d be loosing his shite after Warner getting the nod over JFM. @Fade.To.Black ?
Ya not dropping the first four so it’s David or Stion and Stoin bowls and I’ve only seen David come good a couple of times so as @supercoach says it’s probably David staying home for me. I can’t fit Bartlett in, it’s either him or Ellis for me.
TBH I’d like to pick an extra bowler, it’s a tough gig having the game skewed against you and then getting smashed everywhere.
 
Champion @Buttface, team balance is everything.
If JFM came into the squad, I'd have a straight swap with Tim David. I just think there's so much upside in JFM that could be a Dave Warner moment as far as run rates etc.
But Aussie selectors are notoriously conservative, and at last check, they missed calling me for my recommendations. 🤣
Either way, I can't wait for the tournament - T20s always can throw a curve ball with underdogs surprising on any given day.

Agree its really tough to decide on one or two spots .Just concerned after watching a bit of the IPL im convinced that 200-250 scores will be common .Agree Ellis is one of the least likely to get smashed out of the park .I just feel Hazo a great test bowler who puts every ball on a length might get hammered ,Bartlett and Spenser Johnson are part of our future and to get those 200 + scores JFM would be handy .We are allowed a travelling reserve who is not named yet .For me I would have 1 wicky in the 15 and the other the travelling reserve .
 
Finding it hard to get interested in the T20 WC.
It seems designed as a vehicle to reward the Indians.
Does any other country really care? West Indies maybe?

Test cricket is my standout as far as cricket formats go, but I still enjoy the 20 over stuff. I guess the uncertainty of 20/20 makes it appealing as most of the teams on their day can jag a upset win.

Of course the trouble with any limited over cricket is a lop sided game is a borefest! Anyway should be a good series as Australia, India, New Zealand, South Africa , Poms and even West Indies are very good at this format
 
Yeah T20 can be exciting, I do find though that Test and 50 over games lend themselves to momentum swings more…I.e. you can start poorly and dig yourself out of the hole.
You don’t have the time in T20. You have to be on straight away.

I’m signing up next Tuesday Steve. That way I can cancel it after the final and before the 30 day free trial is up. They will not get a cent the Minster for Finance and Fashion does not approve. But I can tell this, if they have one single reality show on there Mrs BF will be hooked. 🎣

Doing the same .I love test and ODI cricket and will tolerate T20 as it is the way of the future .I'm out voted there so can't beat em,join em
At least its not franchise cricket and I clearly have a team to follow called Australia !

Yep, I generally prefer winning. The ODI WC was fun, especially after there were a few death riders with our slow start. It would be nice to start and finish strong at his one. I got $5 months ago, we’re $4.50 second favourite now.
