Well Sabina Park Jamaica first ever pink ball test here
Its hot windy and its a pretty green top but the weather will burn that green off after a day or so
So far a lot plays and misses
9 overs Konstas 7 Kwajaja 2 + plus a few no balls and a wide
Aust 0-13 after 9 overs .Batting looks difficult but will get easier after a while
 
Now 13 overs
Uzzie 5 off 38 balls
Konstas 11 off 43 balls
0-21 ( drinks)
Was going to skip my 7.30 tee time but with such little action I think I will keep it and back for the last hour or so
 
Konstas out LBW for 17
Aust 1-28 ( uzzie 6 no)
Problem in our top order persists
Konstas now out 5 times for 50 runs ave 10 on this tour
Kwajaja cant score 7 off 48 balls
In comes Green whos name is a perfect description for him as a no 3 batter
 
I went to golf after first 2 hours where our batsmen scored a tiny 50 runs in 25 overs in bright sunshine
Come home and see we all out 225 . Not good enough when so many got starts and no one went on with it
I see Starc got his usual early wicket but Windies will get about 4 hours of good batting conditions before lights takeover tomorrow
In terms of the Ashes I'm very worried about our batting

Today they are 1-29 in 11 overs buts now daylight
Hazo got an Lbw a bit lucky given out and umpires call on DRS
ball not swinging now
One worry is Bolsnd having rhythm problems with a few no balls
This wicket still seaming but unlike the first 2 tests the bounce is consistent
Starc has been the most economical 7 overs 1-7
 
First session day 2
Windies 2 -57 off 23 overs today taking Windies 1st innings to 3-73😱ff 32 overs .Windies trail by 152 with 7 wickets in tact
The big 3 one wicket each
IMO some of our fielding not sharp eg 4 overthrows
A few knicks thru slips or fully. I understand you maybe can't catch these but guys like Webster is crouched in position with hands on knees and when ball races past and hits boundary .His hands are STILL on his knees
Not impressive reaction times
I remember guys like Hayden or Hussey diving left or right. They might not have caught them but sometimes they did !
 
2nd session Bolo and Hazo get a wicket each
Starc comes back on and first ball a straight forward knick to Kwajaja at 1st slip but Carey stuffs it dives across in front of Uzzie and knocks it away
Very poor
Windies 5-107 41 overs
Webster bowling his slow mediums at other end ? Not sure why ?
Thought picking Boland as 4th quick was so we can keep pressure on !
 
Each test weve had batting collapses
1st test first innings lost last 7 -69
2nd test 2nd innings lost last 7-122
3rd test first innings lost last 8 -96

This fragility won't retain the ashes
 
In this 2nd session Windies have lost 5 wickets for 62
But 3 off those wickets were thrown away thru stupidity
including a runout Greaves going for a suicidal 3rd run but really great fielding by Konstas Now 8-136

All our bowlers contributed but Boland with 3-34 got the figures

Yep have to say selectors got this one right
Only problem wicket fell with 5 mins to dinner so I think they take it early and then we will have to bat under .lights with a new pink ball
This game might not be safe if we have another collapse !
 
Konstas out for 0 ( 1.5 overs ) into innings ( Shamar of course)
Imo Konstas is not playing his natural game
He blocked 4 balls then the 5th ball he also defended but it jumped a little and he simply fended it to gully .Why not even 1 attempted ramp in 3 tests ?
Is that our coaching ?
His only chance is to bat just like he did against Bumrah
We need a Warner type at the top of the order to take on the poms but
With a series total of 50 runs and ave of 8.33 I think he's blown his chances of playing the Ashes .
This Aussie test side is being carried by our world class bowling attack and I don't think that will be sufficient come Nov/Dec!

Bloody hell Uzzie inside edges on to his stumps out for 14 off 19
We are 2-19 lead 101 Yes Shamar ( superman ) Joseph has both wickets
He has 20 wickets in series so far .Series leading wicket taker
Smith edges thru slips .We are looking very shaky !!!
