Was it @kiwitiger who said Stokes would step down after this series? I have my doubts about that. Who are they going to hand the reigns to? Harry Brook?

Stokes is the only player that would walk straight into our team. They have no other leaders, I reckon if he steps down it will set them back a good 5 years.
We have our own issues in regards to the near future and the next gen. The Run Smith got bowled through the gate today.

They are mentally weak, as soon as things aren’t going their way they drop, but this continued reckless walking down the pitch like Haydos is just ridiculous. You gotta read the game and the moment you’re in.

Given they have no wins in their last 18 tests in Australia that's a very long time to blame all that on attitude .
What I do note England were bowled out in 32.5 overs and 34.4 overs in Perth and now 29.5 overs in Melbourne .This suggests serious flaws in their batting techniques .
Just say Australia outplayed us ! And that's that !

Well, what a day, no one could have predicted today’s bizarre events.

The ACB are going to pray the Aussie can bat for two days in there second dig. Other wise there is a real chance this test will go maybe two and half days, costing them a squillion in lost revenue. At the start of the series I thought the Poms batting would be better than ours and would make them very competitive. Got that one wrong, they are terrible. Our bowling has been very disciplined but far from unplayable.

Are you suggesting that Australia are 3-0 up is because England didn't care and not because Australia have better cricketers ? So if they did care England would have won the Ashes ? They were so cock a hoop at the beginning like it was so so important ! The Barmy Army sure thought so .

Yeah it was me. I had just read a couple of articles that said he may step down like Root did and just become a player.
Agree with you though. Who could take on the role? No one in this squad
