Here is my post ashes report card.

A (Practically flawless)
- Head - 3 centuries, enough said!
- Carey - Ridiculous keeping and strong contributions with the bat.
- Starc. Phenomenal with the ball and bat to begin the series. Not as deadly last few games but still churning out 145kph and taking wickets.

B (Above average)
- Boland - Thought he bowled really well and put a lot of pressure on the batsmen which probably contributed to a few other bowlers wickets
- Smith - fielding superb, good captaincy and high average
- Neser - B-minus for me. Took many wickets but generally looked quite unthreatening for large parts. Wasn't great in 2nd innings of last 2 tests.
- Webster - B-minus because only one game but showed the goods
- Cummins - B-minus purely because only one game. Played pretty well though, hopefully he's back soon as he's a big upgrade on Neser.

C (Pass mark)
- Richardson - One game, showed his quality with the ball though. Hope he finds some consistency in the team at some point.
- Lyon - Good contribution in Adelaide unfortunately got injured.

D (Needed to lift, spot on shaky ground)
- Marnus - Some promising innings but never went on with it.
- Khawaja - Good innings in Adelaide and first innings in Melbourne where he stuck around for a while but was clear to see he needed to retire. Grateful for all his contributions to the Test team over the years though.
- Weatherald - D-minus, perhaps controversial but he showed some good glimpses and got to a start most times but never really went on with it. Would probably drop him depending on how the remaining shield season goes.

E (Please go)
- Green - Ok well I thought this guy showed a lot of promise in some innings but then he just gets out in the most stupid way possible each time. Dropped quite a few catches and bowling was not that threatening and quite expensive. Needs to be dropped.
- Inglis - Good run out but was quite poor with the bat.
- Doggett - Maybe a bit harsh but just never clicked. He'd been really good in Shield then was quite ineffective at Test Level. Hopefully he can come back stronger though.

Did I miss anyone?

Agree with most of your rankings
Think Marnus a couple of 50 's and a 48 plus some outstanding catches has me moving him up a level
Doggett got all his wickets with half trackers but probably told to bowl them
But not one conventional wicket bowled LBW caught knicking off etc
Thought he had no real zip .so yep a non starter in future
Don't think Richardson did enough good or bad to get any ranking

Head,Konstas , Marnus , Smith , Renshaw , Webster , Carey , Starc ,Cummins ,Boland ,Lyon
Rest of squad , Green ,Neser , Hazelwood , Murphy .
 
Reading all the posts series comments like
Series dissapointing
England might have won if only this or that had happened
Australia only won because England were terrible
Both teams sub standard etc etc etc etc

Makes me spot a few hints of sour grapes and makes me wonder how many
"Aussie Poms "are mingled amongst us .
Prior to series beginning it was all about " we are the bazball kings of cricket "
" this is the worst Australian team in 15 years "
" England will win 5-0
The thousands of Barmy Army fans believed all this

I couldn't understand all this cockiness as forget about Australia
England has not won a 5 test series against ANYONE since 2017
These self declared legends need to accept they were outplayed and change
Thought processes
Bazball is BS ( apart from losing series 4-1 Aust had a higher rpo thru the series
Other philosophies like " we run towards the danger " are also just dumb

england poor shot selection contribute greatly to a series loss
unearthed bethel he will be a wotld class batsmen in the making he is a gun.

aussies were not thst good either masked some cracks by winning the ashes but south africa and India would be much more competitive than the poms in batting mindset..ausses won they key moments
poms will toss away bazball and be harder to beat in 27 with an aging aussie side.

poms will be competitive in t20 world cup

Yep exactly what I said
So your view is Australia just scraped across the line by being slightly less poor the English .Sorry but 4-1 was a very easy win .
Full strength India were here 12 months ago and lost 3-1
Pommy supporters just can't bring themselves to say Well Done Aussies you totally outplayed us .Its just too painful to say it !
Australia scored at a far higher run rate ( so much for bazball)
Australia lost 79 wickets England lost 96 wickets
Australia scored about 85 more runs in the series for 17 less wickets
We comprehensively won the series and retained the Ashes
Just leave it at that and better luck next time !

you are the most one eyed supporter I have ever seen lol I dont know how you coped when australia lost fourth test lol

Yep good point on Marnus, his fielding was outstanding so should bump him up to a C. Was just a bit disappointed that he never went on with things given how impressive he was in Shield.
Richardson I just gave a C because he didn’t have a substantial impact either way (so a neutral grading as such).

No more comments about who is better at test cricket .I think we are you don't
Just your comment about England lost because of Bazball ?
If so how come Australia scored at a higher run rate ?
I do agree we won because England are a weak over rated team .
Following the 2021/ 2022 tour which Australia won 4-0 .England toured the West Indies who are genuinely a weak team ( makes me sad because the Windies were once a great team )
However England managed to lose the series to the Windies
Australia toured Windies early this year and won 3-0
In the third test we bowled out the Windies for 27 ( again made me feel sad )
Starc got the fastest 5 for in the history of cricket 15 balls
Imo Starc is truly a great of the game . Cummins ,Hazo and Lyon are too
