9 DAYS to go and i cant wait!!

so who are your choices for the semis and the finals?
MoS?
dark horses?
underachievers?
most runs, most wickets?
 
also we really needed a new cricket thread… was quite sick of scrolling 50x to get to the end on RoarFeed
 
Winners - South Africa
Semi Finalists - Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India
Dark Horses - New Zealand
Under Achievers - West Indies
Highest Run Scorer - AB Develliers
Highest Wicket Taker - Mitchell Johnson

The last World Cup was in India and India won. I went to the tied game in Bangalore.

I think any of Australia, SA or Sri Lanka could win it. India have the talent, but they looked average in the tri series. Who knows, maybe they had their eyes on the bigger prize. Till they show something though, it will be those 3 for mine.

Disgraceful that the Windies kept Pollard and Bravo out of their squad. The WICB is a lot like the WT's, they let petty politics hinder whatever progress they could make. Wouldn't have made the Windies contenders having those 2 in the side, but it would have strengthened them significantly. Its cricket's biggest stage, there should be no excuses for not having the best players available.

That's right. Sri Lanka won in 1996 and it was held there, India and Pakistan.

Most wickets, Starc. Because he's in form, in Australian conditions and after seeing his ancestors in "game of thrones" has good genes.
 
If fit. Clarke has to play in the top order. Warner and Finch to open. Followed by Clarke and Smith at 3 & 4\. Watson , Maxwell, Faulkner 5,6,7 Haddin 8 Johnson, Starc, Hazelwood 9,10 and 11\. That's a very strong batting line up and everyone (minus Haddin) can bowl. When you have Johnson & Starc coming in at 9 and 10you know the batting line up is strong. The only thing with this team is the lack of one specialist spinner, however Maxwell, Clarke,Finch, Smith and Warner can cover that roll. What other them has 10 players that can bowl? Finch would be the weakest bowler as he goes for 5.25 runs an over, still that's not terrible.
 
Look Clarke is a tremendous Test Match batsmen but I think he unbalances our one day side

If we get a good start you want a 3-4 that can push on from the start ,especially in the big games

I just don't think Clarke fits that mould any more especially seeing his speed between the wickets will be compromised due to the constant hamstring issues

Shame because he is an excellent captain

I can't believe how NSW beat up on our gift from Qld , Shane Watson :smiley:

I think India had their eyes on the bigger price.

SA, India, Aus and nz are my choices

Paki, Lanka and England will go very bad IMO.
