Current outside backs 'depth chart'

Why are we so worried about our outside backs , they aren't allowed to get the ball anyway... well unless its a boring one of the ruck suicide run into opposition forwards ☹

Saab is back in the NRL team for Saints...so, any deal is very unlikely you would think.

Surely there must be a plan B for Thompson though? I am fine with releasing him, but there 'has' to be another back brought in surely.

Two big injuries to our centers / wingers and we are in a world of trouble.

From what I can tell Corey was pushing for this release and the club were happy to do him a favour. I’m sure someone will be signed in time just have to wait for the opportunity like Saab or Koribete

The club was happy to keep Corey. Two things swayed Madge's decision:

1. The GC deal was valuable as far as Corey's future is concerned and he has family in Qld; and
2. Is Corey the type of player who will help you win a premiership based on what Madge is trying to build? No.

Yep, I've got no doubt if we could afford to offload them we would.

Packer and Taylor with the warriors too Geo.

Dylan Smith is there. If doueihi goes down he should get a run. Junior rep fullback can't be any worse than gallant, mullaney etc who all played grade

He's not on a first grade contract though.

It really is madness what's happened with Canterbury Cup. So what happens there? All CC and flegg players are now uncontracted? I'm sure clubs aren't paying part timers to do absolutely nothing. I presume they're all on day jobs and will regress enormously. Some careers will be over. Terribly short sighted by NSWRL.

BJ played last year...

Well, for the next month the outside backs are:

1. AD - No real backup / Dylan Smith has never played NRL
2. Nofa
3. MCK - I think we all know center is not his spot
4. Mbye - on one leg
5. Tommy - his emergence a massive plus
(Wing depth = Hoffman...never played state cup, let alone NRL)

We are one or two injuries away from disaster. Surely a depth signing is imminent?

You can add Bradley and Cini to the backs list. Inexperienced yes, but they're backs and better than playing forwards out there. Playing Lawrence, Garner, MCK or McIntyre in the centres is an extreme sign of desperation and a very weak squad.

We have a centre on the wing, a second row forward in the centre. I think that point has been reached. Whether it is from lower grades or outside the club, investment in wingers with genuine pace is needed. Let's call a halt to strong runners, which is a euphemism for as slow as a wet week.

I see Talau as a much better winger than centre. Never saw much of a passing game from him in CC mostly just ran over people to score. He’s shown he can finish tries very well in the corner and that he’s safe under the high ball.

Keep him on the wing I say.
