Curse of Monday night football

No teams who have played Monday night football has won the next week.

Round 1

Souths vs Roosters

In round 2 Souths lost to Storm and Roosters lost to Penrith

Round 2

Eels vs Warriors

In round 3 Eels lost Cowboys and Warriors lost to Bulldogs

Round 3

Cronulla vs Manly

In round 4 Cronulla play Cowboys away (Cowboys should win on current form) and Manylt play St George away (St George should win at home and having extra time to prepare)

I personally hate Monday night football and think it is unfair with the short turn around.

I note Broncos have about 7 Friday night games so they get the advantage of the maximum recovery time.

The short turn-around is a myth. Backing up and playing on Sunday is not a short turn-around and backing up on Saturday is the equivalent to backing up on Friday after playing on Sunday, yet nobody ever mentions that

For the first 8 or so rounds every season the Monday nighters always seem to struggle the following weekend. Personally I hate the game, move it to Sunday night or Sunday arvo.

I have no problem with short turn arounds…in actual fact I always prefered them to long.

I hope we dont cop too many 10 day turnarounds.
