never forget the day against the Storm when Ellis made a break, drew Slater and gave it Laurie with the line wide open and he dropped the bloody thing :brick:

He actually caught the pass!

THEN ran a step or two,

**THEN** dropped it!! :brick:

The worst single play I have seen in a long while.

Yes true. An event which prompted my old man who was visiting my place to launch into an expletive and not at all PC stream of vengence at Mr Laurie. And we still haven't won in Melbourne…

He had an awesome debut against Brisbane and before his debut he had loads of people on here calling for him to be promoted to the NRL team, so there's nobody really to blame except him. Everyone rated him at one stage.

I think he starting reading his own press. I also recall seeing him at events with that flea Anthony Mundine. If he fell in with that crowd I'm not surprised his carerr tanked soon after.

TBH As far as form…He only had 20 Games at NRL level over 2 years with us, For one reason or another... He was moved on!! To expect him to get some week in week out form with such a sporadic starting ratio is a touch much. Had a great game against Parra in 2009, Didn't see too much time after that.
As far as Penrith, Matt Elliot is a nice guy, But I don't think he is capable of getting results when trying to Juice an Orange... Laurie had no chance there, And from memory would've been lucky to get 5 games in almost 2 years.
Bennett is a different kettle of fish... His man skills are second to none. I would reserve judgement until this time next year... He hasn't even got the job yet, Let alone got a start....
He has the Size and Strength, For a Pig... That is about 80% of the requirements. If you can find one with half a brain, Well that's a bonus!!

I want you sitting next to me at my next performance appraisal! The guy let himself down with a lousy attitude and poor performances. I think you're being VERY kind to him.

He wont make it, it was quite funny that day when he was playing for the pamfers at campbelltown and everyone was giving him heaps we belted the pamfers. He will best be remembered for costing us a shot at the semi finals in 2009 when he dropped that ball against the storm, that will be his claim to fame.

Yep… That one game, With that one dropped ball cost us the season!! I could think of 10 things that cost us 2009... But it hurts my brain and it was 2 years ago. I've moved on....
