Daine Laurie #237

Here's a video about the debut of Daine Laurie. Seems a very level headed, humble and smart guy.

Good to see no blood lost between our clubs

Well... notice he didn't include "Tigers" in that quote.

Penrith will have a tonne of expectation on them this year. Teams have had a whole off season to do their homework on them. They will likely have another good year but it won't be the cakewalk they had last year.

Tend to think Pamfers may struggle a little this year particularly with the players they have lost and some they have picked up Eiso Jennings and Momo solid players and will be interesting how they fit in.

Me too . They lost thier 2 best front rowers , and a lot of thier galvanising force on the field . Who do they lean to now , the prodigal son ? God I hope they eat turds . That’s one club , I wish nothing but the worst for . Them and Parra .

Another excellent signing and congrats to all involved..

Very smart move but I don't think he will start round 1 in front of Mybe unfortunately.

I think the coaches will give him a few weeks to settle into our style in reserve grade to go from there.

Judging by the reaction I hope everyone remembers he is only young in a key position so he will make mistakes and maybe lose games for us but will grow into it in time.. Very happy to have him on board

Spot on, I don’t think we’re in for a meteoric rise this year but I’d rather watch inexperienced guys learning the ropes than blokes on a pension plan having half a go. Shout out to Braith.

Fisher Harris and Spencer Leniu are pretty fearsome mate, they are a bit short on depth though with Eiso probably getting minutes. Imagine having a plodder like that! ?

They will be picking up some muscle from the Dogs. Just might not happen for a while.

What muscle is at the dogs ? Have you seen thier pack ? That’s one system I’d be staying clear of , for forwards , I’d pluck them really early .

Would that be Napa?
He's at Eisunhuth level but on 4x the salary. Wouldn't really want him even for free TBH.

Them and Parramatta, Bronc’s, Easts, Storm, Dogs, Cow’s, Titans, Dragons, Rabbits, Sharks, Manly, Knights, Raiders & Warriors. In no particular order?

i thought the old Daine Laurie was his uncle who he was named after, i could be wrong but i recall reading it somewhere may well have been here.

Lets keep it real.
This is another kid unproven at the top level.
He might come good, but will take a few years to make it if he does.

I get the excitement but geez he isn’t a superstar and is already been talked about a better 5/8th than fullback. We don’t want another Mbye and the fact we still went after Walsh despite getting Laurie tells me the club doesn’t see him the long term fullback either.

Great news! I must admit I didn’t expect it to happen this year, but there ya go. Sad to lose Momo for him though, I really rated Momo as a centre.

Not sure if already mentioned, so apologies if repeated, but it seems that Laurie is on the bus to the Tamworth trip with the boys (on Insta stories of Jet/Fitzgibbon) so is good to see he is straight into the action for the bonding experience camp thing going on!

Dane Laurie,young,talented,fast...could be the next best thing in the NRL....or could be like many other overhyped talented kids fallen by the wayside....for me I hope he reaches all expectations, but I would prefer Mbye at fullback and Douhie at 5/8 when he is back in rnd2...
I would prefer Madge choose the kids pathway,we had Tedesco getting the same accolades as Laurie when he debuted and look how long that lasted, credit to the WTs they looked after him...
Lets see how well Laurie impresses us and shows what the hype is all about first..
I prefer to see players that young, work really hard to grab a spot and prove their worth at NRL level, rather than over excited enthusiasm from fans who believe what they hear is a sign of a top NRL career for ages ,even though he has had very limited NRL game time or experience being so young...

With Mbye as the luggage boy.
