Thats true - in fact the whole side really hasn't done much to speak of. I guess it was either stick with what we have done for 10 years and hope that by some miracle it suddenly works. Or completely overhaul the roster with young guns and risky past stars - add some speed and enthusiasm and hope by some miracle that suddenly works. It may not but is going to be fun to see if it does.

I guess the unknowns excites a few of us .....be bewdiful if 5 Harry Grant's pop out of the club in 2021 ...even better if they are Qlders

Talking of Harry ...saw him in his Tropical Auto Group ad on Monday .....good work son

I think that photo is a bit misleading. He’s definitely not a giant but he’s a similar shape to Luai.

On Sunday the Panthers released Daine Laurie to Wests Tigers in exchange for Paul Momirovski. It is understood the Tigers are paying the majority of Momirovski's two-year deal as part of the swap arrangement.

Highly doubt this considering he was the player chasing a release, We have ample salary cap room and he was more for depth... Hope the club comes out and shuts this one down or even @THE_POM

No where near the truth, he didn’t have an active contract for 2022 & was only on around $200,000 for 2021. We picked up a small portion hardly a 1/4 of salary.

Looking for 1 more external signing, with Laurie on board & 3 spots to go 1 more will be brought in with 1 player likely to be elevated & 1 space left open for mid year.
I’d put Fitzgibbon, Robert-Davis & Docker-Clay as the top 3 for being elevated.
Was told a development deal also being discussed for Fitzgibbon

100% true just waiting on terms/agreement to be made, we want a player in return.

For the one last spot we are looking to fill externally, do you know if there's a main position we are looking to fill? As in lock, second row...?

What about the Hastings rumour?

So for a long time now, we have rightly been whingeing about a lack of speed.
Now I don't know which of these will eventually be in the NRL team, but we have JTJ, Laurie, Liddle, Fitzgibbon and Brooks that all have pace. The jet, Laurie and Fitzgibbon are all exceptionally quick.
At least we might get to see our blokes running *away* from chasers, and running down opposition line breaks this season.

Yes, it is exciting that our backline can now strike fear into oppositions. If our forward pack aims up, I can see us demolishing a few teams this season. Big 'if' though. It helps that Josh's mowing has left the building. He used to get dominated week after week. Can't believe Manly wanted him so badly.

Everyone remembers their first day at a new job. The nerves kick in when you walk up to the front door, you’re greeted by an unending number of unfamiliar faces and you know there’s plenty to learn ahead of you.

It was all the same for recruit Daine Laurie when he rocked up to Wests Tigers for the first time last week.

The only difference, his first day at the club was the start of a five-night pre-season camp to Tamworth.

“It was pretty freaky. I was training with Penrith and then I got the call that I was coming over here. It happened so quickly,” Laurie said.

“I found out that I was coming on camp with the boys. I was pretty rattled there for a bit.”

As he stepped onto the bus bound for Tamworth, Laurie started to get to know his new teammates.

“I hadn’t met many of them until I got onto that bus. It was pretty weird to be honest because I had been at Penrith for five years,” he said.

“I was pretty rattled. I was really nervous because I didn’t know many of the players, but it was a good experience for me.”

There were a few familiar faces, former Panthers teammates, James Tamou and Shawn Blore.

"The boys have made me feel very welcome and I can’t wait to rip in with them this year,” he said.

A week into his time at the club, Laurie has already clicked with coach Michael Maguire and he’s excited to represent Wests Tigers this season.

When he says his uncle Daine Laurie debuted for the Tigers, is he talking about *that* Daine Laurie who had a few epic games for us before throwing his career away?
