**Melbourne lock Dale Finucane becomes NRL’s most wanted man**
>
THE battle for Dale Finucane’s signature is heating up with six NRL clubs chasing the Melbourne lock for next season.
>
Foxsports.com.au can reveal the Wests Tigers are the latest club to join the race after it was reported last week that five clubs were bidding for the 25-year-old.
>
With his most impactful seasons in front of him and with a market value of around $650,000-a-season, we can also reveal Finucane is attracting offers between three and five seasons in length.
>
It should come as little surprise so many clubs are keen to sign the forward long-term with the Bega product taking his game to another level since leaving Canterbury for the Storm in 2015.
>
The Tigers should also have cash to play with for 2018 with several forwards off-contract, including the likes of Tim Grant, Joel Edwards and Ava Seumanufagai.
>
Foxsports.com.au reported on Wednesday that they’ve identified Roosters prop Kane Evans as a player of interest and they’re also attempting to re-sign their captain Aaron Woods, while former Kiwi international Elijah Taylor has an option in his favour for next season.
>
The Tigers join Newcastle in the queue after the Knights reached out to the Country Origin representative a fortnight ago in hopes of adding some grunt and experience to their young pack.
>
The Knights have made no bones about their plans to bring in some marquee men to complement their exciting rookies, with Matt Scott and Jack Bird also high on their wishlist.
>
Finucane has already met with Knights coach Nathan Brown and head of football Darren Mooney for a face-to-face chat and tour of their facilities.
>
While it’ll take a lot of work, the Storm are hopeful they keep all of their off-contract stars.
>
With a focus on retention, Finucane is one of a long list of off-contract players, which includes the likes of Jesse Bromwich, Nelson Asofa-Solomona, Will Chambers, Felise Kaufusi, Jordan McLean, Billy Slater and Christian Welch.
>
On Wednesday, Market Watch revealed the Storm are deep in negotiations to extend the contract of exciting backrower Joe Stimson.
>
Having lost Kevin Proctor to the Gold Coast and with Tohu Harris leaving at the end of the year for the Warriors, Stimson is a player the Storm hope can help fill that void.
>
The Storm are edging towards a new two-year-deal, while talks with McLean, Bromwich and Asofa-Solomona are continuing.
>
An Emerging NSW Blues member, Finucane has been increasing his playing time and pushing for 80 minutes this season.
>
Foxsports.com.au attempted to contact Finucane’s manager Andrew Purcell but he did not return calls in time for publication.

Good player, but $650k sounds ridiculous. I suspect this is his agent getting his client's name some airtime and no more.

More than happy with ET in that role.

i'm just glad the media are now linking us to players rather than saying how we aren't going to be able hold onto our squad.
For 2017 we have gone from being in the Red to now being in the Black. Within a week of the season starting.
Going into 2018 we are to be very active in the player market. It's going to feel great after years of being hamstrung by ridiculous contracts.
i'm glad we are putting the feelers out now to let the other teams know we are coming for there players. it might be all bluff, as we may have to spend more than we'd like on our Big4\. However to does take the pressure off, by showing the RL media we have plenty of cash to spend in 2018\. So hopefully this will slow down all those articles about "how are the Tigers going to sign the Big4 in 2018".

Good player but to my mind he can only play lock and I prefer ET with his ball playing abililty in the middle.

McQueen on the other hand is a left back rower which would see an improvement their and a good guard for Brooks while also putting Lawrence on the bench which improves our bench signifcantly

Would be the best middle forward at WT including Woods.
Interesting we are being linked to good players fora change.I would personally pack ETs bags however,ET can play on an edge well.

Does the Hard Yards and would be brilliant in our Pack… I wouldnt get into a bidding war though to get him.

Lets all Pray together this happens 😛ray:

You won't catch any fish if you don't go fishing. Nice to see we are at least throwing a line in the water.

All this talk in the last week of Tigers being interested in big bucks players makes me think they are resigned to losing at least one of the Big 4\. Maybe just keeping options open in case.
Depending on how long the Big 4 contracts take to get sorted we may miss the boat with some of these off contract players.

How have we gone from supposed cap issues to being linked to every second player off contract.

Nice to hear we're interested but just further proof that the media have no idea.

We have our entire squad off contract for 2018 the cap issues are for 2016-17\. The real test is signing Moses, Teddy, Woods, Brooks and Nofo on reasonable deals.

This is just so funny, we've been labelled as the club that nobody wants to join, and we've been labelled as a club who aren't active in the market due to ongoing salary cap issues.

Now suddenly things have flipped and we are linked to quite a few decent players, and these don't seem like random guesses, these are being reported as legitimate and confirmed engagement of player managers. So evidently we are ramping up our recruitment drive for 2018+.

Does that now mean we are going to lose good players we have, or are we finally reaching that point where we aren't carrying so many ordinary players any more?

You'd have to imagine the Evans-McQueen-Finucane media noise is a multi-pronged approach by the club to secure 1 or 2 classier forwards. And with Farah's money stopping at the end of this year (right?) it makes sense we could have some space to move.

Good player who would definitely help our pack. He's a backrower though so who does he displace? Rowdy is on board for another couple of seasons…Aloiai is here next year and Taylor has an option in his favor...

If it was up to me Lawrence would be the one with the question mark - assuming Aloia kicks on this year. Finucane at lock, Taylor plays the side that needs most defensive support (and/or the one with the duff half, should we lose one of ours). Aloia in front of our playmaking half making extra metres to play off the back of.
