Probably not the best commentator of all time but certainly one of the most entertaining. Alzheimers has touched my family. God awful blight that it is. Best wishes to the big fella and his loved ones. Tough times ahead.

Exactly,Ian Chappel said a couple of years ago he was on his own as his wife/partner(?) had left him and he was in a bad way so good to see her back if its the same woman.
Funny story from the 1990's,i was heading along Oceanview Road Wamberal(Terrigal) and Big D. comes flying past on a Harley of some sort,a few seconds later a Police Bike comes up with lights flashing so i pull over and he goes straight past,i get going again and shortly after there he is with D. who still has the helmet but waving his hands everywhere.I dropped off my Golfing buddy and returned to go home and they were still there 20 mins later.
At the time i think he was living over Avoca way as he had something to do with the Surf Club there,may have been the Terrigal Surf Club as well.
Funniest i've see him was trying to make F-1 races interesting at 2am and the classic Wrestling at the CG in NZ.
