I know it always feels like next year, but this is truly building to something. None of this will be happening next year - the squad is taking shape to be something . Especially with who is rolling off this year too.

We now have the cash to go hard quality in the positions we need. Benji and Richo will have a plan where to spend. Theyre recruitment record so far is strong.

I think the issue has been our recruitment issues being a bottom feeder club. We can't attract the best talent because they don't want to play for the wooden spooners. We keep on losing our best players and not replacing them with the same or better.

Until recently, everyone from rival coaches to the media have praised Wests Tigers recruitment for this season, which may not be done yet with Klemmer going.

Klemmers 1st year was ok, arrived here wanting to prove he still had it ,after the dogs realized he didn't (over spend on the cap?) trimmed down became a plodder, at Newcastle ,had moments of rage as they tried to shop him for 1/2 of his contract.Ended up at WT which was basically i crap signing for another , swapping houses with Hastings

Klemmer was/is underappreciated.

As Tucker pointed out- 1st year was really good.

Last year needs to be taken under review- Utoikamanu dropped anchor mid season, we played 70% of our games 12 v 13 & got down to playing Matamua, Kit, Porter etc on a far too regular basis. No forward really stood out in the middle.

But Klemmer kept putting his hand up, doing his dirty runs, making his tackles. He just isn't flashy- so these things get overlooked.

Twal should fill Klemmer's role, & I suspect Tim J is lined up to develop into that type of player going forward.

If I was doing a super coach/fantasy league type thing- I'd be sneaking Twal in on low money.

I think the timing is poor. They couldn’t have shopped him in November/December? Regardless, it’s probably not the worst decision. Pole needs to be starting. He’s too good to be on the bench. Hopefully we can finally get something in return.
Agree mate this timing is not great unless he goes and secures a new deal but we wheel in a centre or Backrower of quality , we cant buy another player passed it or just starting out , we need results now , hopefully there is something happening but I got a feeling Klem goes and we only upgrade our current players and maybe add for 2026:, Mays brother I think may be the only addition if his court case is in his favour

The ONLY reason Klem is going to the Dragons is because Molo has quit the club… that only came about recently… not in Nov or Dec… had the Molo situation not arisen Klem would still be with us…Klem ain’t in big demand

There is no doubt the club is keeping its powder dry for T.May is he is cleared to play… we now have a second free spot to fill… any ones guess who that may be

His first year with us was really strong. Pretty sure he played every game, averaged 140m, and 25 tackles at near on 100% efficiency.
But his speed of play the ball and him being held up in tackles for an age are really detrimental to how the game is now played, we're always up against a set defence line after he ran the ball

Im not saying he was brilliant, but he wasnt past it.
It seems ridiculous to me that a pack containing Klemmer, Utoikamanu, Papali'i, Bateman and Pole, supported by Twal, Fainu, Seyfarth etc and led by Korisau were beaten most weeks.
Coaching played a role.
