DDoS attack attempt

We've had a few attempted DDoS attacks, just an hour ago another one started.
Why? I don't know.
We're not some kind of commercial site. I suspect it's just an arbitrary system trying its luck.



I've countered it by enabling a country block, so that only people in the following countries can access the site:

• AU
• NZ
• GB
• EE (because that's where I am)

I'll add some more safe countries shortly but I would like to hear people's thoughts on who we should whitelist. I know we have users across the world.
I'm okay with the entire south pac and EU

I've expanded the allow list to all of EU, South Pacific, S/E Asia, Canada and US.
most of our overseas members would be in these areas. if elsewhere, they'll need a VPN.

any other suggested whitelist are welcome.

*EDIT: thanks to Nigel and Boris, the UK is no longer in the EU. I have also allowed GB.
