Ivan has made some horrendous decisions. He isn't without blame for how we are going. The very fact he again named Benji captain is a disgrace. The fact Benji is even in the team is a disgrace.

Some of his team selections have been a real blemish. We might as well put a mannequin out on the right edge. It would be more threatening than MCK.

And what did your hero Aloiai do that was so outstanding today ?
Whole team was crap … but carry on !

think you need a change of slippers..pretty sure you got everyone…time for Rd 2..

Ivan’s clutching mate ….
Time to dust off your steel caps !

If the team selections were so poor then we shouldn't have been in any position to win the game. Dumb errors cost us and a couple of critical penalties - awarded against us, and not awarded to us.
Et is not a preferred option at DH but while Reynolds is building match fitness ET playing eighty and covering that position frees Cleary to pick the bench he wants I suppose.
A for effort again but our weaknesses are always going to hinder our success.
Anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves and should stick to couch coaching - all the answers with no accountability.

You should probably take a few moments to digest the irony of your last sentence.

No irony - we are ALL geniuses on the couch. - it was meant to be inclusive. Still back that the coach maybe the wiser of most - also inclusive.

Fair enough.

It does not matter how many injuries we have Lolo can never play first grade again

How good were the dropped balls? Could not believe some of them.

Fonua doing an AFL take with no direct pressure on him, straight through the hands. Fonua striking the ball back in-field from a kick defence. Lawrence swiping at a second-half 5th tackle miracle pass by Keary, Aloiai letting one go right through his hands, Benji not using his boot on the drop-out, Lawrence trying to pick up a wayward Tui pass on his toes… diabolical handling at times.

Comedy capers wasn't it. Add up all the rest of the dumb plays and you can see why we lost. Lucky to be even in it at the end. But for some it was all Tui's fault.

Fortunately for them, Ferguson can kick them from the sideline.

Lot's of things to talk about in that game, but the Reynolds brain explosion that gave them the penalty before half-time was the dumbest play of the game.

Id have thought Lolo impersonating a Man utd player heading the ball would be dumber, but thats just me

That goes with his letting Morris run past him in goal last week, this bloke shows no interest or commitment, what full back turns their head when a kick goes up and attackers are running through.

Keeping Benji in the team has become a retrograde step.. A coach is limited by the quality of players in the team. The club has to spend ASAP what it still has left in its 2018 CAP and endeavour to bring a player or two into the team before June 30\. Otherwise the team is heading into struggle street for the remainder of this season. The only other positive option would be to blood players, i.e. Heleta to first grade fullback, from our ISP team.

Kidding - that guy is hopeless.

Kev maybe, Thommo again but not Heleta. Should be released.

I agree on Heleta Russ, he is not NRL standard, but we have a couple in our NRL team now who are not up to it. :frowning:

It wasn't all Tui's fault by a long way because there were sooo many dumb plays. But he definitely played a big part, not even so much what he did badly, but also what he didn't do!

We had an amazing opportunity in the first 20 mins to get some points on the board but our attack was woeful… where was Tui? That is exactly when he needs make his mark. Instead, I was actually wondering if he was still on the field!

Without having a fullback who wants to have a crack every set we are always going to struggle. The team needed him and he went AWOL. Kev would be better because he plays with heart and does his best by the team which is about all we've got to utilise this year.

all growing pains of playing together - they are just getting to know each other how they tick - it takes time to gel but unfortunately some of us don't have the patience… I still trust the coach - I'm sure he is frustrated like you and I, he just keeps it in house and that's how it should be... he knows what he's doing with the cattle he has... proud of the boys for giving it their all... we're not perfect but hopefully we will string a few more wins

Nofo getting wounded so early in the game played a big part in our down fall…Tui was a vey skilled player but he no longer is, he looks like he has thrown in the towel....Fonua thinks he is superman but was shown he is not, TWICE his second attempt was an easy peasy off the right foot against a giant of a man (ask Larry Corowa) who had no chance of changing direction at that speed....If Liddle remains injury free for a prolonged period of time we will crack the eight no doubt about that....And Benji, fellow supporters I'm sad to say is now as bad as he was when he left us....I would only consider him for a bench spot until Reynolds makes NRL condition....He should tvery skilled playerhen shake hands with the reserve grade players because that's all he is now.... Please Ivan do everything in your power to get that guy from Canterbury over here ASAP.... :sign:

“Tui was a very skilled player”,
In what life was that..??
With the exception of his first one or two gamesfor the Warriors, he’s been lucky to make reserve grade
A total waste of a signing

At the time I don't think we had much choice with signing Tui as Slimey Moses wanted out and we needed a replacement asap, he helped us avoid the spoon last year but fullback is not his position its 5/8.

Sadly I have to agree with the above.
Tui, worked well at 5/8\. He should now be banned from Fullback unless he gains a stack of speed*.
I was wrong about Tui and Benji
Benji is a Bencher, He needs some time in reserve grade.
Grant to start, He is playing for a contract and he will perform and earn it.

MWZ needs to come back to the wing and Tommo to FB till Mbye is available.

Look, our side is getting there.
But man our defense looked all over the place. We seem to have this "FOCUS on defense" period of our season where we start getting it right. Then we drop it and go back to crazy playing. We should have won this one.

The colossal disappointment eh.

I suppose its human nature to blame everyone else…..in actual fact,if you watch the game "there were many mistakes made by many players today"

Watched the game closely.
Twal is the real beast.

Are you going to be Pres of the Twal fan club….I will be in that one as well...

Count me in he is the REAL beast.

Bar a couple of good posts we have 6 pages of rubbish.

Ivan is doing an absolutely outstanding job. Yes he is a lot more patient than some of us would like. I would have dropped Benji a month ago for instance but the guy has us on the right track.

The team is not quote his. Its half inherited and a work in progress.

I guess only Jason Taylor gets 3 years to build a squad LOL

One thing though. Immaterial of the coach or individual players, the TEAM seemed to fracture / fall apart / run around like headless chooks at crucial times. Is it lack of leadership on the field? Block headedness? Individual players not listening to captain? Captain not leading? Too many captains?

The only thing he inherited was a full salary cap. He had 8 players in the side yesterday signed by him. 14 If you include players who re-signed after he came on board. This squad is 100% his.

It’s the first year of a rebuild what did you expect to happen. We are building nicely some smart recruitment for 2019 and we are a perennial top 8 team.

We’re going okay, but it doesn’t make him exempt from any criticism. Some of his team selections leave a lot to be desired.

Yes GNR,we know that, however he still knows the squad far better than we do,eg, who is underperforming, who is injured and still not 100%,who does he use as replacements in particular positions and on it goes…we can all critisise when it suits us but we dont have to walk in Ivans shoes...I completely understand everyones opinion,BUT,everyone is not the coach...he has done a pretty good job so far and I for one am very impressed with the way the team keeps giving for 80 mins...have faith mate...

Lets not beat around the bush, this is more about Jason Taylor than Ivan Cleary for GnR.

Im done with it, most can see through it.
