Ben Ikin was talking about lack of consistency with suspensions…...and compared Merrin;s hit on Tate to Danny Williams hit on Buckets.

I nearly fell off my chair.What is it with these Q people and Origin.It sends them whacky!!

To compare a short jab to one of the biggest king hits I have ever seen is just ridiculous.

They actuallly showed footage of the two and Ikin was saying there wasnt much difference they were both king hits.

I have now seen it and heard it all.

What about Sheensy. He was a guest on the show when Ikin was having his rant and said nothing at all. I thought he would have defended the king hit comparison out of respect for buckets given he was the coach of the team at the time of the incident. Buckets may have even been his vice captain behind Senter.

If Danny WIlliams had of clubbed O'Neil in exactly the same way but not knocked out cold, he would have got a 3 or 4 weeks.

If Merrin had have done more damage he would have got a more severe penalty

This is the truth. The similarity is that both blokes laid into a defenseless man who wasnt looking. Buckets caught a ripper, Tate didnt hence the massive difference in penalties. I am not saying it is right…but it is the way things run. How long did Fa'alogo get when he king hit Anasta?

Agreed, although Williams threw full on punch and got him square in the back/side of the head, Merrin threw a short jab and got him on the chin/cheek. Even if Merrin's punch connected it was never going to KO Tate, and certainly not do anywhere near the damage Williams did.

That said going by how ridiculous the judiciary is today, the Williams punch would be about 10 weeks, 5 if he was a big name and less if they had a big game coming up.
