Has the real truth finally surfaced? Has Sheens finally admitted that he has a number 7 problem once again in 2010?? Are the WT the ONLY club to use 6 or 7 halfbacks in as many rounds? Most people will tell you, it is rare as rockinghorse poo that a team will not win a premiership without a stable halfback, although there have been the rare occassions..

2006 2007 2008 2009 here we go again, when in trouble play musical chairs. Remember "no excuses" but really we have the same excuse as the past four years its called SHEENS.

Since we lost Moltzen it has…

Having Lui, Taumata, Nicholls,on the injury list hasn't helped and a very underdone Lazarus both on experience and fitness hasn't helped either....

How many back up halves you want the club to buy...I mean we can't just go out and buy Finch cause Inglis at 6 isn't working out can we...

As i recall…Moltzen was a half who Sheens persisted to play fullback. Only through injury to Lui was he forced to play him back in the halves where he belongs.

I rate lazarus a better half then waters, by a long shot…

He certainly was about 500% better than Waters at leichhardt this season and that was playing behind a much smaller pack

No he didnt even start the season with Moltzen in the halves, the bloke just doesnt know what a halfback looks like.

It is utterly amazing that Ricky Stuart turned out as good as he did…

Your recollection is correct….Lui's injury also gave us a chance to see Beau Ryan at fullback....hmm Rugby League is a funny game.....

And Yes stryker...I'm aware Moltzen started at 1 but don't you agree since we lost him from the team......it's been somewhat downhill...

Ryan at fullback is not as great as many would perceive. Ryan in the centres is much more devastating than what he has shown in the number 1 jersey. Strangely enough Sheens refuses to play him there also.
Just as Tuqiri will be MORE devastating at fullback…

Nicholls has not missed a game through injury this season

I stand corrected then ….thought he was injured pre season....my bad...

Blaming Moltzen is pathetic - he was only moved to half when Lui was injured anyway.

We all know that Moltzen still would have been at fullback if Lui was fit.

Pathetic, pathetic, pathetic.

In my opinion Sheens had 2 guys he wanted to play at 7 this year. Lui and Moltzen. I think he even said pre season that Lui wouldn't play NRL all year as it is a tough ask for someone so young. I remember all the players when interviews in the pre-season saying how impressed they were with Lui. Both are injured but I think for the rest of the year our halfback will be either Lui or Arana with Farah filling in when the other two aren't available.

I will not apologize for being a Lui fan, in my 30 plus years watching the game I would put him in the top 5-10 young players I have seen ability wise. I really hope he continues to work hard on his game because he has all the skills. As long as he develops he will be our long term 7.

100% agree on your post GC Tiger.

Lui is a gun and is only turned 20 in Feb.

No clubs have the depth @ 7\. Cam smith (a hooker) played Half while Cronk was out and Hinchcliff (2nd rower ) played hooker.

Unfortunatlty our coverage out wide hasnt been as good as the club would have liked in the absence of Tuiaki.
Reminder - Unavailable due to injury
Lui
Moltzen
Taumata
Laz - Too early

Of course there is a number 7 problem. Our top two choices are injured and the third choice has been rubbish.

We can't expect the club to have four halfbacks who are up to consistent first grade standard.

No club has 4 Half Backs

Dogs souths Sharks Cowboys dragons

heres hoping when Lui comes back he will have a good run and then we will see what he is truly like with no pressure from Moltz.

Lui and Moltzen are BOTH 5/8ths disguised in a 7 jersey..
Lazarus was the first true number 7 WT have used this year in the NRL Premiership….albeit playing on the wing and fullback..
