What a disgrace that was the worst performance i have seen the under 10 wests tigers could defend better then that they say they went in overconfident How i think they should look at the competition table 4 from 9 with a bye that is the only time you could be confident the tigers are going to get the points.

When was the last time the tigers won 5 or 6 games in a row they just dont turn up week in week out sick of excuses about injuries

all the hype in the pre season they must have been reading the paper they are kidding not even in the best 6 teams

will be lucky if they finish the season on 22 points play st's twice melbourne they are gone

And all you will here is injuries destroyed the season after last nights effort the should give up now embarrissing

Digracefull embarrissing over paid

Imagine going to work in the real world and putting in a days work like that you would be looking for a new job

so should they overated players had 5 or six years and done nothing clean out required urgently

sort of agree with most of that.We need a coach who can give the players a rocket up there clacker and pick players in there right spots.we have the most talented roster in the comp but a certain someone isnt getting the best from them!!

It's incredibly easy to make your first post a rant.

how about you back up and make your second post constructive? Who would you get rid of in the team?

Who would you replace them with?

What would you do as coach to turn the players around?

It's easy to bag mate. Posters who bag are a dime a dozen - and they don't have only one post to their names.

Impress us all and suggest some carefully thought out fixes for your second post.

Who would you clean out up the guts?

Like you and many who post on this forum I was very disappointed with the teams effort last night in fact on the way home I questioned having paid for a seat at ANZ to watch the crap dished out in the first half in the cold.
I watched the replay today and while I can offer little in defence of the team I noted a couple of things in the first half that had they gone our way could have turned things around.
Souths first try was the fault of our defence, had Fulton tackled Sandow instead of hanging off him then he wouldn't have been able to get the kick away that led to the try. However that aside, Souths decoy runner took Lui out of the line which opened up a gap for Sandow's kick had Lui been able to stay in the line there was a good chance he could have assisted in tackling Sandow or stopped the ball after he kicked it. The penalty against Farah near Souths line when one of the Souths forwards wasn't concentrating in the play the ball and put the ball on farah instead of the ground led to Lyons penalising us it could have gone either way ie a penalty or a scrum for dropped ball by Souths. Souths second penalty given by maxwell for WTs being inside the 10m was given in a useful kicking position for souths and they kicked the two points. Such a penalty could have been given many times against both teams at various locations (score 8-0). 15th minute Benji grubbers into the souths in goal, Farah goes within a whisker of scoring before deadball line. That try could have changed momentum. Momentum swung and souths scored in the next set off poor WTs defence (14-0). In the 20th min Farah tries to grubber into souths ingoal, Luke blocks with his legs, Maxwell calls not played at. Next play, Lyons penalises us souths get a hand down field penalties 4-1\. No excuses WTs played poorly but had a couple of these things went their way, then the half time score could well have been different.

Riiiight, wonder how we would have gone last year with a massive player cleanout after that 50-10 drubbing…

Get a grip

Cleanout :roll

And with most of the team signed up long-term, who can they afford to pay out and then have enough cash leftover to buy someone better?

The answer is no one.

Yeah sounds like a rant but is the truth was actually on the old forum site and posted quite a lot
so actually not the first but understand and can see were your coming from

Were would i start

Get rid of GIbbs,Fulton,Payten,Cayless,Flanagan,Ryan Buy some one with a bit of fire Blair is said to be coming
We need galloway, fifita to fire up last night was a very low performance Sign up a good forwards coach maybe Blocker some one with a bit of passion

Souths had four front rowers out and out played us so how and why does this happen

No expert but how many years has this been happening tigers have a good squad on paper but the game isn't played on paper

They just don't aim up when it matters remember the big games years gone by with much the same squad Newcastle beat us missed out on semi souths beat us miss out on semis apart from last year when we had a great year we just dont aim up when it matters

might seem like im bagging the tigers but truth is i am and have been a fan for a very long time following the magpies for many many years before the joint venture

those years were very hard as we just could not compete but with the squad the current team has i think we should all expect a much better effort

27 nil at half time come on doesn't matter how loyal you are it must of hurt

i will not write any more bad things about the tigers as i really would like to see them turn it around who can ever forget the good times of 2005

Cayless has already retired, Flanagan is off-contract this year and heading back to England and whether Payten, Gibbs and Fulton stay may be largely dependant on whether the Tigers get Adam Blair. Aside from that Geoff Daniela, Junior Moors, Mitch Brown and Matt Utai are all off contract at the end of this season, but they are not big earners.

I think Payten has a lot of football left in him, Adam blair is on his way out is the only reason melbourne don't want him…we don't need a has been taking up salary cap money

Blair is only 25, nowhere near on his way out just yet. It's no secret poor old Toddy is struggling to hold up to the rigours on the NRL though, he has been battling a chronic knee injury for some time now and it is not getting any better.

Thanks for pointing that out willow, i didn't realise Blair was that young ooopsssss but I still think he is overrated…shoot me but hey that's my opinion, i think tigers could do better in building from their toyota cup team and on the pack we have nstead of buying overrated players so to speak...and well payten has been a fave of mine for many years and he is coming to the end of his career but the knowledge and the ability to win tight games is what is needed, not just some gun of the minute

Punt Gibbs, Fulton and Payten? Our team grows a leg with these guys all fit. Gibbs is invaluable off the ball and is starting to have more impact up the middle with the pill.

Father time is starting to catch up with Payten but he hasn't lost his ability overnight.

The guys are off the pace and complacent. They need a rocket up their arse and an attitude adjustment. This is the same squad that went within one point of a grand final last year.

Blocker ? pfft plz…wats the fascination with Blocker every1 alwayz calling for him to b involved...he has the IQ of a peanut u only gotta listen to his commentary...if his coaching is anything like his commentary he'd b flat out coaching an under 7's side

have to disagree on Payten i think he's shown this yr his playing dayz r just about up…this coming from 1 of Payten's biggest fans i've been a fan ever since he arrived in 04...but its at a point where u have to ask if its worth him playing on next yr?...Blair is class n theres no way u can turn a guy like him down n when ur looking at players to cull to make way for him Payton has to be at the top of the list...would u rather lose Woods,Fifita n BMM just so Payten can play 1 more yr when they r potential 10 yr players?...in a way i wouldn't b overlly dissapointed at losing Gibbs n Fulton coz maybe it is time for a changing of the gaurd n go with Blair,Galloway,Dwyer,Heighington Fifita,Woods n BMM

I think we all need to take a few deep breaths. Roster cleanout ? I think we need to have an attitude cleanout. I sat out there on Saturday night, as I'm sure like a lot of you did, and I could see players merely just walking around. No direction, no purpose. Sets went by where Marshall handled maybe once and that was only to put in a dud kick that either bounced off the opposition or one of his own players. Ayshford may have defended reasonably only on occasions but no attack or pace whatsoever, the ruck and middle were an absolute shambles in the first 40 with no solid defence and the Bunny forwards were able to offload at will in the absence of any sting from our tacklers and not being able to wrap the ball up. I think we're carrying a few players that we should let go at seasons end. Ryan, Payten (only because he's getting on a bit), Daniella, Moors and Utai. I don't think we need to go a spending spree, maybe one or two new heads but we do need to find the intensity that was so lacking on Saturday night. Players should be running onto that field jumping out of their skin. Not milling around like lost cattle. They have a chance this weekend to rectify a few things against the Panthers who we have had problems with in the past. It's time for all of them to have a reality check and to step it up about 3 notches. If not, when we eventually face off with some of the heavier hitters such as Dragons, Storm, etc there will be alot of blokes who will be found out very quickly.

So ok 'UTGs' after losing on Saturday your answer is to lose Gibbs,Fulton,Payten,Cayless,Flanagan,Ryan. 1 of those Fulton started and 1 Ryan came off the bench in the second half which we won. Payten & Flanagan didn't playand Cayless retried before the season started.

Great post buddy.
