Does Lawrence stay at 5/8th??

I said a while ago that the only way our young halves were going to be out of the team was through injury.
So my question is should our capt be at 6 for the dogs clash or does moses slot straight back in??

I don't think its a longterm move but I would like Moses not to rush back in. Has to be 100% fit and another week off even after the bye to refine his game. Maybe worth slotting Rankin in there for dogs as well if Teddys available.

I dont think he stays there no, but maybe our old mate Tim Sheens might be having a chuckle to himself if he caught Lawrence's performance!

wouldnt think he would stay there under any circumstance.

Rankin, Littlejohn or Drinkwater more likely

Lawrence played most of round 1 at 5/8 when both Rankin and Littlejohn were in the team.

I'm not sure he should stay their but honestly we look better when we don't have both halves on the field. Firstly ur defence is much better because we don't have a half leaking a side of the field. In saying that I'd choose Moses over brooks but it's a close call. Also Robbie looked much better without 2 halves as he could actually get invovled.

If we loose one at the end of the year I won't be shattered and would honestly prefer a big running 5/8 outisde Brooks or Moses - even Sironen back to 5/8

Moses has outplayed Brooks all season, Brooks has one good game and suddenly people are changing their minds and instead of asking Brooks to be dropped now they want Moses gone??

Comes back in without a doubt.

Got to find the right balance between them and then they'll be almost unstoppable if/when that happens

Interesting that Taylor was talking about this very thing in the box straight after the game - how much better both Brooks and Moses go when the other one isn't in the side. I think he is right when he says it's a matter of balance - finding the best way each needs to play with the other whilst still 'owning' their own game.

We have plenty of options at 6, but no one as good as Lawrence in the back row. Has to stay where he's most useful.

That and I can't think when I last saw Lawrence kick a football.

It was a forced change, Rowdy stepped up and we got away with it. It's not one to try every week.

Rankin at 5/8th would be something to consider - he looked sharp there with his limited time, and his jinking runs across field looked dangerous at times.

I remember Rowdy played 5/8 years ago he kicked the ball backwards and out on the full it was the last tackle. I don't think he ever kicked again.

I agree. This is where Taylor really does have to stretch his coaching ability and prove his worthiness. He has to find the balance between Moses, Brooks and as some implied above, Farah. If/when this happens WT will present a very formidable attacking threat. But let's not get ahead of ourselves.
Looking forward to the day.

Here is the thing that I think gets overlooked. Our squad isn't bad. We do have some players who are inexperienced and are inconsistent in the squad within key positions but there is enough to work with.

Taylor in my opinion has a lot to do to retain his position past this year and definitely to receive another contract.

I would think Moses slots back in….but at 7\. Becomes the dominant first receiver and Brooks becomes a running 5/8\. Brooks looks so much better when he runs.

If he can learn to inject himself when he sees something it will go a long way to giving us a potent halves combination.
