Don't get carried away

It's a long season and a lot can happen. Ink summed it up best. One week at a time. That's all the team can do.

I agree with this. The thing is though that each win is important until we qualify for the finals.

We need to make the finals and then hopefully get on a roll at the right moment. We have been playing well at the end of the season recently but it didn't matter because we weren't in the finals. In 05 we made the finals and we were on a roll. Love to see that again.

Whilst our early season form is quite encouraging it really is one game at a time, the season isnt won in april its won in the last 10 to 12 games of the season when Injurys and so on take effect, I think our great test maybe around origin time players such as Tuquiri, farrah,Lawrence and big Keithy look like they may get a run this year we may suffer during this time so these early wins become more important I have been a tigers supporter for a long time and have also been let down so may times so im nit to excited yet, but this season does feel good lets hope we can qualify for finals and relive those wonderful memories from 2005..

Tigers have yet to play to their potential in regards to their skills. Been the same for over the past 4 years. This year has shown not much is different thus far. Until they learn to string together 80mins consistently week in week out then they will not become a true threat in this day and age.
Drop offs in intensity thoughout matches always proves to be the main killer and giving away leads and then being forced to play catch-up footy is the other which then in turn produces unforced errors in attack. When these stick, it is a true indicator of what this squad is really capable of when focussed.
That is why WT are able to come back from deficits of around 20-24pts with their style of footy and rack up quick points in succession and also leak points at the same rate. Their F/A is always the telltale sign.
The main difference i have noticed so far this year in comparison to others is the staying power of being able to last 80mins with their stamina. This has been able to keep them in the game for much longer than previous years and their flamboyant skills have been able to take over from that point. Marshall has learnt to rally his troops much better this year and has been barking orders onfield much more this season too and really coming of age as a complete footballer.
Without a doubt i put a lot of this much needed change to Folkes and what he has done for these kids as in preparing them mentally as well as physically.
I rate this squad as one who can rack up 40pts quite easily each week in attack against most oppositions. When they can start doing this on a more regular basis then i will have seen a team playing to their true capabilities.

i never get carried away
dont expect much then wont be so dissa[pointed at seasons end
if we make the finals then i will be happy

Sunday's match vs Canberra could have run away from us. Canberra had the chance to put us away, but a pass went over the sideline and there were a couple of times where if they spread it wide without dropping the ball, we would have copped tries.

Nth Qld played very well on the weekend and if we turn up like we did in Canberra, we're in serious trouble.

Dont get carried away!

Bugger that. Take it when you can get it I say.

I have been a Magpies, now Tigers supporter for 40 years.

One week at a time etc etc but for the first time in years you can look at the draw and not see a game that it is a given you will loose.

My prediction. An undefeated run into the premiership!!!!!

Im feeling apprehensive, yet encouraged at the same time.

Apprehensive that we have only played well once.

Stoked that with this in mind we are 3/4,and reminding me of 05 big time.

When we got flogged by the Rorters it was very 05 the way we came back and put on a few tries at the death.

And the Canberra game was 05 all over again.

Awful first half….....clung on to be only down by 12 odd at half time.Compete for 20 and then ,BANG the class ignites.

Im seeing a lot of 05 in 10.

Giddyup.........the ride is starting in T minus.............

Good on you. Thats the spirit! I hope you are right with your prediction.

Love your work Dan! Hope you're right. Having said that, Canberra were pretty awful and we were lucky to only be down by 12 at half time - they bombed plenty! Hopefully our defence will only get better and our attack is the best in the comp so bring it on!
