DT Plugging For The Grub to be SOO Hooker

The trouble with the NSW selections for the past 5 years is that they have tried to pick guys to belt Queensland out of the contest. Hence the reason this article talks about Gallen, Bird and the Grub.

What they seem to forget is that the way to beat the Toads is with superior football. Queensland are a highly skilled team. Look at their 1, 6, 7 & 9… Smith, Thurston, Lockyer and Slater. They are not boofhead grubs like Ennis, they are the spine of the team with the footballing nouse to create points.

NSW must match this. Whilst they keep picking Ennis over Farah, the result will never change. This time last year the dogs were running in the bottom 3 and the Sharks were dead-ringer last. Between these two sides they had six players make the NSW squad. Why? Because they were supposedly built for origin. Brain dead selections such as this will result in more of the same.

The definition of stupidity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

Queensland will win again in 2011.

could not agree with this more, on all aspects.

Pick some blokes to play some football, I'd like to see G Stewart, Gasnier, Lyon, Uate, Hayne, B Creagh and Farrah playing some footy, hitting holes and showing skill, instead we'll have ennis at hooker, Bird at 6, B Scott in the centres and we''ll try and out muscle them for the 5th year in a row and get beat for the 6th year in a row…...crazy!

Ive said it 100 times built for origin seems to mean give away a shit load of penalties

Ive always thought 'built for origin' was you cant attack for s*** so other areas such as grubbiness and toughness gets magnified.

Case in point, Farah is tougher then Ennis, but because Farah has a superior attacking game while Ennis niggles more, it is seen as Ennis is tough and a better defender when he isnt.

Another one is Beau Scott, he cant pass a ball if his life depended on it, because of that he is seen as a great defensive centre.

Jamie Lyon is slow, because of that the NSW selectors thought he was a very good defender yet we saw how he handles Inglis.

Chris Lawrence is known for his speed and offence, because of that his defence gets overlooked besides us.

Yes, the NSW selectors are too busy trying to find a team that can 'stem the tide' instead of selecting a team that is actually capable of becoming the tide, itself!
