Dugan to the Dogs ?

The Dragons forum are reporting that they think that Dugan is on his way to the Dogs.

Apparently they upped their offer but Dugan has knocked them back.

Worst thing for us is that it probably means we will miss out on Packer and Milne as now the Dragons have the money to keep them.

Knowing Dugan doesnt get out of bed unless he is paid, if this is true it would be on big coin. Interesting to see how they will make the cap work if both Foran and Woods are also being signed.

Dragons would need to find a replacement fullback and that could take a fair slice of their remaining Cap money.

$750k was dragons original offer for dugan "if reports were accurate' So you'd think above $800k from the dogs…

I cannot believe anyone else is going to the Dogs at this stage, it is not conceivable.

If all of Foran, Woods and Dugan have really signed on, Dogs will need to find suitors for about half their contracted players.

Yes we signed Reynolds but he was already off contract, that money is still small fry compared to the potential contracts of the 2 now 3 rumoured.

Well we're gonna need to find another forward now. Any suggestions?

Graham

Don't think the Dogs will let him go. He would probably sign with them for less before he left. We're gonna need at least two more forwards before the start of next season. I'm thinking Asofa-Solomona, Bodene Thompson and Stockwell.

Bulldogs must be using the same accountant as Roosters. The following report is from 2MMM a few days ago.,

"The Dragons have been active in the market, having invested a reported $2 million dollars in the halves pairing of Ben Hunt and Gareth Widdop.

But does that leave enough room for them to sign off-contract fullback Josh Dugan?

“I think Dugan moves on,” said former Dragons premiership winner Jamie Soward on Sunday Triple M.

“I don’t think he’s going to be able to stay if [St George Illawarra] stay with the offer they’ve got.”

The Dragons are believed to have offered Dugan $2.2 million over three years, which Dugan’s management reportedly believe is below his market worth."

I'll be happy to miss out on Packer. Don't care that he's done his time, I don't want that grub anywhere near Wests Tigers.
I was thinking recently that Dugan would be a good replacement for Tedesco though. He's injury prone but when he's on fire he can be outstanding.

He's a good player but I think we need someone who passes the ball at fullback.

How could this possibly happen? The Bulldogs have spent a total of $5 million of their cap on 9 contracted players (including Woods and Foran). If they somehow manage to sign Dugan, the NRL is kidding themselves. They should be shedding players, not signing marquees! Either way, if he resigns with the Dragons we snag Milne and maybe Packer, if he signs with the Dogs we have a chance to snag someone decent like Josh Jackson (which I have been wishing for a while now, ever since I heard about the Dogs' cap situatuation).
