Newcastle radio reporting the Knights are talking to Napa's manager today.

They see Napa's signing as a key to enticing Pearce to the knights as they are really close apparently.

We should definitely have a crack at Napa if the roosters really are looking at offloading him

Absolutely.

You could argue that we don't really need props, that a quality strike second rower is more what we need, and I would probably agree with you. But, when quality comes on the market which is an upgrade to what we have, we should show interest.

Packer, Matulino, Napa, Twal as our front line, with Sue, Grant, Felise all as backups would be quite formidable.

Not too many quality backrowers on the market. So strengthen our front row for now.

Tim Grant only has one year left doesn't he?

Put his money towards securing a quality 2nd rower for 2019

Definitely could do with another prop and Napa would be perfect. I'm not sure Felise is even the mix is he? He didn't get a look in at all last season.

Apparently roosters making room for Angus Crichton.

Thought it was odd they would let a good toung prop go that still had 2yrs left on his contract.

Must be confident of getting Angus if reports are true.

Plus there is talk of $BW returning to the Roosters.

Rorters are short up front as it is..found them out in the finals series…Letting go of Napa doesn't make much sense

but who cares..

We should be making room for Crichton would be my choice..

I really want us to get Crichton or Napa. Both are really quality players who will be superstars in the next 2-3 years. They're the kind of players that can win you games.

I want to see us beating out other teams for players. I want the Tigers to be an enticing destination for footballers to want to come and play for. And not just because we're throwing the most money at them but, because we've got a good and successful team culture.

It'll probably take a little bit of time before that's a reality but, I'm hopeful that in the next season or 2 it will be.

Crighton would be nice.

Would also be nice for roosters to lose Napa but than also miss out on Crichton.

Not much chance of that though

as much as i and all of us on this forum want 1 or both of these players, lets cut to the real world we are maybe 500-1 to even get close. its like some teams shop at myers we shop at payless, just hope under IVAN things change.

Crichton is the forward we should be after. he already is one of the best backrow players in the game and will only improve

Yep we are bit like cryptonite to Superman when it comes to attracting players in their prime. Just not going to happen at this point. A lot riding on this current squad to change that perception

Napa got dominated by a no name cowboys pack and was average in origin. His reputation is built on one good game vs Burgess.
We have had too many of that type of player in the past

This is my thoughts as well. We now have a good pack. We should just be looking for quality additions. Napa to me isn't a sure thing.

Spending significant money on another prop would be a massive waste of money. We've got more depth in the front row than perhaps we ever have. So id say no to Napa. If we are going to discuss fantasy signings than Crighton is the guy to talk about.

Seriously?? Why don't they just buy the whole shebang and be done with it! It will be a very hollow premiership for the Roosters imo, if they ever actually win one.

For all the money that Nick has spent of the years there hasn't been much success in the way of Premierships.
I hope that trend continues, if they don't win one in the next 2 years Bye bye coach.

I don't know about Crichton. Good first season but I honestly think forwards need more than just 1 good season to become something special. I'm not saying he's worth the punt, but I am saying I don't think he's worth a bidding war.

He's pretty quick for a backrower but that will wane… how good are his lines and his defence long-term?

I can think of a long list of first-year impressive forwards that couldn't sustain it.

We are no chance @ getting Crichton.
If roosters want him they will get him.

By a "no Name Cowboys pack" . Cmon the Cowboys have a great forward pack. You can be missing Matt Scott and still have a prop or two on the scene. Shawn Fensom, Gavin Cooper, etc are not no names.
