Early days but…........Bwahahahahaha......

Dragons are all over the Eels..............

6 nil....

Eels trying to work their way back into it but the Dragons look a bit quicker across the park IMO.

it's exactly as i thought, parra have nothing

The eels were under pressure and their only half couldn't do anything.
This team relies far too much on luck and Hayne. The dragons didn't do anything special tonight and they didn't have to!
A fringe team only, if that!

The dragons are a solid defensive side but they couldn't possibly win a competition if their attack remains as predictable and one out as it was tonight - all the talk of them opening up and producing some razzle dazzle is just that - talk. As for the eels i said during the off season i didn't think they had the halves to win a comp - i know its only round 1 but i think they really need to look at some other halves options.

I tipped the Dragons and everything went the way I expected.
The Eels rely too much on the one big play.
Despite all the talk about how good the Eels are on paper. Robson, Kingston and Keating are average so thats 2 key positions that dont create enough points.
If Hayne and Mortimer get shut down, then they'll lose.
The Dragons choked them tonight, however if I was a Dragons fan, id be worried that, despite dominating every stat tonight, it remained 2 tries a piece, im not convinced about their attack again this year although its early days.

I tipped the Eels.

I thought Archer refereed well.
I also thought he **marginally** favoured the Dragons all game.
Especially so in the last 15 minutes of the game.

The problem with the Eels was Inu can't handle pressure, especially under a high ball.
And their starting hooker - Keating is it - offered nothing.

A good win to Bennett's Dragons.

Gee the cowboys were tearing Brisbane apart in the first 20\. They should have been up by a lot!

also, all the jerseys are looking great!
Eels - back to the traditional, simple design and logo
Dragons - added the little point to the V
Cowboys - simple, not vomit

I'm so glad clubs are stepping away from the stylized crap that started to appear from 2000 onwards

I'm with Kul …..Parra looked lost...

High risk footy v Controlled no mistake footy......perfect for early in the season....

Jamie Soward had a blinder...His kicking game won it for the Dragons....

What's doing on the final play with a chance ......no bomb but a kick for field position with 40secs left... 😕

I thought the Dragons forwards dominated the Eels. Weyman and Hunt outplayed Poore and Moimoi. The lack of go-forward hurt the Eels. Dragons look like they'll be in the firing line again this year. Parramatta always take a month or so to click, but showed glimpses tonight.

Oh yeh my bad, I watched some of last years grand final today and must of got mixed up :brick:

How is it that no matter how many guns the Broncos lose they just keep churning out awesome no-name replacements?

Deadset it seems like every kid that steps onto the park for the Broncos turns out to be a superstar…

Can never underestimate them, they pull talent from out of nowhere every time.

cowboys are playing horrendous :L
im liking these bronco younguns tho
remind me of the tigers backline wen there playing at their best haha

Well they got the whole of Brisbane and almost the whole of qld to choose from.

By the way I know its a spoiler thread, I know the score but I wont say who wins except that it becomes a very tight finish.

Yeah I know its a one team city and all that, but in this day & age no club really "owns" an area, there would be scouts from every club sifting through the talent in Brisbane & QLD, even the Bulldogs have a feeder club in QLD.

Meanwhile they are folding like fresh Origami paper as we speak lol.

Gallant must be close to getting a run next week, poor Ty Williams had a deat set shocker.

The Dragons did well to nullify Hayne last night, I just can't see him replicating last years form.

Dragons - 3 penalty goal kicks instead of putting pressure on the Eels in attack. How damn boring!!!!!! Deserved to lose. Hope When Jamie Soward was injured for a few minutes they looked lost.
And the 9 commentators - whinging about a strip penalty because it was near the end of the game and the outcome was "in the balance". Don't think you can change rules during the gamer to make it more exciting boys!!

Pretty easy to find the cream of the crop when you have a whole state to pick from.

Anyway, I said it for months and had to put up with crap for it, but Parramatta made the finals off of momentum last year. Throwing the football around like idiots. They are not a team that will finish top 4 but are a team that storms into finals spots. Always the same with choke-a-matta.
