Elijah Taylor Final Game

Obviously tonight is all about the two club legends but Elijah Taylor deserves a lot of thanks for everything he’s done at the club

When he first joined us a few years ago he improved us massively. His defence and ball playing at lock often helped us win games and he was a key leader in our squad.

As he got older and slowed down a little being a smaller forward lead to his performances slowing down but no matter what he battled through everything and gave 100% effort every time he was on the field

Never shied away from doing the tough stuff never complained about being dropped, always did his best to improve himself as a player even in his older years and a great leader at the club and a great example of how to be a professional and hard working player.

On behalf of all Wests Tigers fans, thank you Elijah for everything you’ve done for the club. Personally I’m very sad to see you go ❤️

Tough bugger.

Certainly is. Best example of that I can remember is when Sam Burgess whacked him and split his head open and he jumped back up and kept running to grab another 10 metres.

Loved when he whacked the other burgess in another game too. Elijah did a lot of good stuff for us

If everyone played to the max of their ability like ET every week, we would be playing finals football most years...thanks ET love your work

Well said @JoshColeman99.
While tonight felt a little emotional knowing it was well and truly the end of an era, it also brought closure to the career of a player I've always respected since his signing.
I remember the very first interview he gave in our colours and it was honestly the first sign of any professionalism from one of our players in such a long time. It was such a tough period for fans at that time.
To me, he exemplified what was required at the club.

Thanks for everything Elijah, your service and leadership never went unnoticed and wish you all the best!!

So much respect for this guy.

Generally underrated for what he has done in his career.

Hope he calls it an end, as those head knocks are coming too often. Could transition well in some defensive coaching.

I am sad he is leaving. I really think he was simply born in the wrong era. 90% of his career took place when the game demanded size. Every coach wanted a large lock forward to play as an extra prop. If he played in the 1980s he would have been a legend of the game. Now, the game is actually trending back to his style of player. If he were ten years younger he would have been a gun.

Thank you Elijah. I appreciate all of your efforts for Wests Tigers. Wishing you the best for the future.

Never forget this..

As he did again tonight, getting us not only back in the game, but ahead and well on top when he was replaced.

That photo right there just exemplifies what Elijah is all about. He’ll play through anything and give his all.

Great clubman. Underappreciated by many I feel. All the best for the future, Elijah.

Yep, wholehearted gutsy player who always stood up to the test. Will be a big loss around the club, he lead by example.
Always remember a few years ago at Penrith in an important game (might've been a finals game) when ET, Te Maire Martin and Tyrone Peachey were all seriously injured and out for the year yet the dressing room cam showed them all laughing and hamming it up. It might've been the green whistle talking but that endeared those blokes to me for their spirit.
Congratulations on a solid career ET, it was an honour to have you as one of ours for a few seasons👍. Appreciate your effort and your courage mate.

Tough player and always represented the club well both on and off the field.
Thank you for your efforts at Wests Tigers and I wish you the best for you and your family in the future.
