Elijah Taylor - Ordeal..

A few things things form this.

1.Shows how footy mean nothing.

2."stabbed"….would love to pick ET's brain on this word.

**Would be interesting if he means players or board.**.

Sounds like captain material to me.

What if it's both…?

I was never a fan of JT but in light of recent events it appears that his sacking and the manner in which it happened was not appreciated by many in playing squad including ET.

Yes however some players like ET just get on and do their jobs. I'd add that the team looked a lot better coached with IC at the club instead of JT.

Also the players were a huge part of the sacking. The club wasn't performing.

Always good to end the weekend with a positive story, particularly one such as this. Love and commitment personified, good on you ET.

You would never see an article like this in the Telecrap.
It's a pity that our captain doesn't have as much grace and grey matter as ET.
Elijah never unloaded on Penrith or Griffin when he left them like Woods did to us.

Sign this guy up for life! And give him a coaching/mentoring role after footy. We need him at the club for the long haul!

I agree %100 ET seems like a good bloke and no doubt he probably is.
Six months ago you would have all said the same thing about Woods and Teddy - now of course they are suddenly not the men your previous good judgement had them at
Fact -; off the field they are all decent men and you could find numerous stories from people that REALLY know them to back that up.
Second fact the opinions of fans can never be trusted when judging footballers who play for their team because basically their only true investment in them is related to their attachment and performance for the team and once that is severed boy how quickly that perception can change.

Elijah Taylor is everything you want in a player and a man.

Thank God he came to the Tigers. People have nothing good to say about JT but thanks to JT for his foresight in signing him and for being a concerned coach. As for the comment "bad luck he couldn't coach" - not really the thread for that type of comment, give yourself an uppercut.

Hope his little one is doing well and will suffer no repercussions from this episode.

ET is a real leader within the club, not sure he is a captain though - vc definitely.
I would give the captaincy to Rowdy for the rest of the year and 2018 is a different ballgame.

+1 to all of this. JT cannot be accused of not being a man-manger; this type of leadership is should be commended. Also agree re: captaincy. Happy for VC; thoughts on captain residing in another thread.

My guess is player's.
I read somewhere that ET and Ballin? Not sure if one or both but apparently gave to the players about their attitudes in the lead up to JT's sacking.
Not sure how true that is but if they did it shows the leadership these one or two possess and how poor the attitude is of the players in our club.
The likes of Woods and Tedesco should of been doing it.
So glad we have IC leading this club into the future now.
I also think a lot of ppl underestimate Ballin's contribution to the club even though he is always out injured. We would be going a lot better if he was playing.
Tedesco is the only real loss. The rest are replaceable. Hopefully some more good signings in the next few weeks.

We might never know, but kudos to JT for caring, I was never a fanof his coaching, but he has some morals

Reportedly …. the players, Pascoe and Go knew nothing of JTs sacking until the press leaked it. The decision was said to be made by five board members.
Hence if true .... after all the dramas last year and the assurance that JT had the full support of the board and then was sacked, it is understandable why the players were less than eager to comitt, especially if they supported the coach.
Believe it or not.

If true - its understandable - ET and Ballin have played in teams with far better cultures than WT - ET was punted by Penrith but still had the guts to fight his way back to NRL. Ballin has come from club that never gives up ( as much as I hate saying that ), also got punted but didn't spit the dummy. Our big 3 have all come through either Balmain or Wests junior systems straight into WT pathways - they have never had to be tough - hopefully this attitude of privilege is gone forever.

Maybe some of you shoud revisit Woods background before you pass judgement about privilege. He has had to earn everything he has got including going through the Wests Tigers pathways, and while some of you are disappointed in him now, nothing he has got has been coupled with privilege.

Look no further this is the guy we should be building the club around. Tries his guts out and never hear a bad thing about him. Next captain please.

This is the same thing I have heard, however, I heard the move was initiated because the players weren't performing for JT.

If they liked him they should have played for him instead of getting flogged, and then flogged again.

I know you are defending woods mate, and I respect your view, but he is having a bet each way saying he wasn't consulted and then in the next breath saying he just wants to play. It is a sad ending to his time here, but he bought this on himself through his poor conduct in the media and bad mouthing the club. Players leave us every year, and don't cop this backlash. Teddy, and even Moses, aren't copping this much.

Edit - apologies, this is off topic. this thread shouldn't be about woods, it is about ET and his family, happy for post to be moved.

What a champion. I'd also add that Jason Taylor deserves a lot of respect since he has left the club. He hasn't acted like a twat at all.

Yes, much different to how our current captain is acting.

All good OMT - always appreciate the opportunity to have a respectful discussion - found myself in a quite a few over the past week - just have to agree to disagree.
