'Enough is enough': Line in the sand for Wests Tigers

When Wests Tigers centre Esan Marsters joined his teammates in the team meeting room at Concord Oval on Monday morning, the message was clear. "Enough is enough."

After a number of heavy defeats at the hands of the Canberra Raiders in the past few years — particularly at GIO Stadium — Wests Tigers will make the trip down to the nation's capital looking to build on a last start win over the Newcastle Knights and keep their finals hopes alive for season 2018.

But they'll also be heading down to prove a point to themselves against one of their biggest bogey teams.

Having conceded over 200 points to the Raiders in their last four meetings — including a 48-12 loss earlier in the year which Wests Tigers led 12-4 at one point — Ivan Cleary's side know the streak cannot continue.

"We came in to the meeting this morning and on the board it has all the scores from our last few games against them over the past couple of years, and also from this year as well," Marsters said.

"It didn't really look too good for us.

"The coaches had a talk to us and they just said enough is enough for us.

"Hopefully we can go down there and play our own style of footy and get the win.

"Going in to this game, we need to right some wrongs. We haven't got the best record against Canberra in the last couple of years so it'll definitely be good to get a win there and prepare as well as we can."

While the ninth-placed Wests Tigers will likely need other results to fall their way if they are to play September footy, Marsters emphasised it was a simple message for his side over the final few weeks.

"The goal for us is just to keep winning — that's all we can control," he said.

"Hopefully a few of those teams around us can lose and hopefully we're a chance of the finals. But all we can do is prepare the same and hopefully produce the same result that we did last weekend.

That points total is a 20/20 cricket score .
The last time we pumped the Raiders was round 13 2012 40-0
:unamused:

Not only do the Raiders score a heap of points against us they also leak very few given the results in our past 4 games, we certainly assist their for and against. We need to play like we did against Souths to be any chance against the Raiders.

Well we should treat this like our Grand final
After 4 big losses in our last 4 starts against the Raiders a Win for the Tigers will at least have some satisfaction attached
Maybe just another small corner turned
Without Tompson and a Question mark over Benji's fitness it will add some extra difficulty
As if playing the Raiders at their home ground isn't hard enough
Come on boys
Give it everything
Make us all proud

Makes you wonder what the discussion was before the game at Campbelltown…

You can crack open that bottle of Penfolds “ Grange” that you’ve been saving in 4 weeks !

I'll be in Tuscany..

We had an apartment in Tuscany for 2 weeks in '15, you'll love it.
How's your Italian?
No many people speak English in those small villages.

In chronological order the differences are 36 points, 40 points, 42 points and 54 points - they are getting worse. would 18 points difference against us be considered an improvement?

Canberra are seriously such a mediocre bogey team to have. Like how do you consistently get thrashed by a team that are so inconsistent?
