Totally agree. I went looking for him because of the contract news, otherwise I might hardly have even noticed that he played.
Absolutely shunning the hard yards when, let's be frank, hard yards aren't that hard in NYC.

Agree, I've only seen him 4 or 5 times this year, but he hasn't impressed me. Poor work ethic. We really needed him to step up tonight, but he was conspicuous by his absence.

Let me tell you that he is one hell of a player.
I watched him tonight and if he was'nt injured then I'm a dutchman.
That performance was to bad to be true. I think that we had a lot of injuries that were not revealed and the short turnaround did not help.
Having said that, how hard is it to play the ball and then hang on to it??

Happy to be corrected Col. My assessment is based on very limited viewings. Hope he thrives in the NRL.

He's a highlight reel kind of player. Makes breaks, scores tries. Still has a lot of work to do when it comes to simply hitting the ball up hard and making his tackles.
But he certainly has the x-factor in attack. Nice footwork, a strong fend and runs good lines. But then so did Liolevave. He did score 14 tries off the bench last year in NYC i think and another 10 this year.
Will be good to see how he develops. Not a huge forward by any means. Quite nuggety.
You are contradicting yourself. He is a centre in the making !
No he's not.

That's a rare comparison!

It is, but when it comes to all around workrate in defence and attack he's our leader. Does the dirty hitups early in a set. Tackles hard.
If a number of our boys had the same work ethic as Lovett we'd be unstoppable. He's nowhere near the size or skill of Marsters and while he lacks the impact some like Marsters can make his attitude and fitness is everything you'd want all your players to show.
Now if only we could combine talent with work rate across our 17 we'll be set for the next 10 years.

BB i can't argue with you on Lovett's work rate but he is not effective.
He doesn't have the speed or power to break the line, i don't recall ever seeing him make a tackle that mad me think wow.
He reminds me of highington, will do a solid job as long as there are game changers around him.
