Multiple times today he was caught flat footed, it is clear he is NOT a center.
More of a worry though was he was out hustled several times....sharks players wanted it much more than him. 34 yo Josh Morris wanted it more than Esan.
Maybe he can be a bench forward, but he needs a massive rocket.
If he is still our first choice center next year = we won't make the semis again. Simple as that.

No doubt he has underperformed this year. I've never thought of him as a centre - doesn't have, and never will have the speed but he is a mobile backrower - problem there is his defence as he arms grabs a lot which you just can't do.

Also meant to say that in regards to having another overpaid small second rower who can play centre if needed, the Verdict is NO.

Esan was ordinary. I am sick of him getting into dummy half, stepping 3 times and making 2 metres. Run onto the ball like every other back in the comp.

If the rumours are true about him being unhappy at the club, he should hang his head in shame, for having his nose out of joint, yet letting in the tries he did today.
