Expect a little venom when Farah, Ennis clash

God even jason taylor has caught ennis fever. judging by his article in friday mornings paper and his commentary during the city/country game last night.

Is it some kind of virus? will we all be infected by it eventually?
Has ennis made a faustian deal? if so, i can rest knowing he will spend eternity in hell for selling his soul in order to become a rep player with little to no talent.

i can see no other reasons for this phenomenon….

well except one, but it invloves knee pads and a breath mint for afterwards.

Some people on here let their dislike of Ennis badly cloud their judgement of him. The only hookers I could see an unbiased person rate ahead of Ennis are Friend, Luke, Farah and Smith.

well in my opinion he is average, not bad, just average.
statistics show this to be the case aswell. a quick look through nrlstats.com will show ennis gets through a similar amount of work in 80 minutes as other hookers do in half that time on the field. managing to make less tackles in 80 minutes than ur opposite number (round 1 against newcastle)when you have been on the field twice as long is pretty poor. and no one could say hooker is not a deffensively important position.
After all ennis is an 'origin style player' isnt he? we hear it constantly from commentators and see it written in the papers, at first media types sighted ennis's defence as the reason he should be blues hooker over farah
Forgetting to check the career stats of both players proved their downfall in that argument , so they have since dropped that rubbish, they now simply say he is an 'origin style player' He must have numbers similar to queenslands 'origin style' hooker cameron smith then….......

Are we talking just NRL, because if we're not then I'd rate one Danny Buderus as well.

WILL SWANTON - SMH

ROBBIE FARAH'S rivalry with Michael Ennis is even more ferocious than you might think. Take it as read that the best two hookers in NSW enter tomorrow night's City-Country clash with burning points to prove. Farah was livid at being sacked for Ennis for the third Origin game last year; Ennis was mortified to miss a place on the Four Nations tour despite steering the Bulldogs to within one match of the NRL grand final after Farah's Wests Tigers failed to reach the play-offs.

There is mutual respect between the two rakes, and also animosity.

When the Herald approached Farah for an interview this week, he replied: ''No worries, mate. Just no questions about Origin or Ennis.''

But for Farah, this week is all about Origin. And Ennis.

''I've always said if you're worrying about who you're up against and trying to outplay him, you get away from what you really want to achieve in a game like this,'' Farah said. ''I've been around a while now and I've learned I just need to go out and play my own game, stick to the structures the coach wants and get a job done for my team. It's not just about my performance. Go ask any hooker or halfback out there, the way we play depends on the platform laid by our forwards and the people around us … If the team goes well collectively, I'm sure my performance will be good.''

Farah is not human if he does not want to smash Ennis tomorrow night. He was made one of the fall guys for NSW losing the first two Origin games last year and his pride is still dented. Ennis was instrumental in the Blues' victory in game three and when his tough-as-teak style helped the Bulldogs deep into the finals, a place in the touring Australian squad seemed assured. Farah's club coach, Tim Sheens, was also the national coach and when the Bulldogs joined the dots, rightly or wrongly, they came up with one word: favouritism.

_**That Farah now has two Test appearances to his credit would make Ennis apoplectic.**_ A battle royale is coming. ''I would have loved the chance in game three to redeem myself for that second game performance,'' Farah said. ''I didn't get it but I'm hungry now to get back in there.''

The real Farah did not stand up in Origin last year. Errors, poor options - he was unrecognisable as the club skipper piloting his NRL side with precision most weeks. But any outside criticism is a feather duster compared to the beating he gives himself.

''The captaincy at the Tigers the last couple of years has taught me a lot,'' he said. ''I feel a lot more experienced now in these big games … But I'm still looking for that perfect performance every time I go out.''

Farah was speaking before his City team left for Port Macquarie. Ennis had already headed north. He was not approached for an interview but here's another given. His reply would have been: ''No worries, mate. Just no questions about Origin or Farah … ''

For all those other dunces out there - apopolectic means

Main Entry: ap·o·plec·tic
Pronunciation: \ˌa-pə-ˈplek-tik\
Function: adjective
Etymology: French or Late Latin; French apoplectique, from Late Latin apoplecticus, from Greek apoplēktikos, from apoplēssein
Date: 1611
1 : of, relating to, or causing stroke
2 : affected with, inclined to, or showing symptoms of stroke
3 : of a kind to cause or apparently cause stroke <an apoplectic="" rage="">; also : greatly excited or angered <was apoplectic="" over="" the<br="">\

Wow i didn't realise it was this bad</was></an>

Oh….when i read that article regarding Ennis, i thought it was along the lines of the Greek word - Apupisu..

I think you are all delusional.

Ennis might not have the ability of Robbie but he consistently outplays him. He did it again on Friday night.

I'd daresay Ennis hardly outplayed Farah until the end of the match where he picked up 2 soft try assists. Over the past 4 years, I'd easily say Farah has been the superior player and performer. Ennis has been exceedingly ordinary this year, one of the big reasons why the Dogs are sitting at 3-5\. When both met in Rd 6, Farah had all the cards played against him. Inexperienced half, who wasn't even played there, and a battered and beaten forward pack. Ennis had his team desperate for a win to basically keep their season alive and a team which was close enough to full strength. City vs Country was somewhat similar as well. Ennis halves were Carney, Bird and Kimmorley, 2 of them proven performers at the level and at SOO, the other a player who should've very well been there in the past. Farah had a half who has played 7 games and a hack from Parramatta.

Farah has faltered when the lights were shining upon him. Ennis didn't power forward but he didn't wither either. This is all that has Ennis ahead of Farah. If our selectors and media were as involved in observation of the game as they should be then all would know how much better Farah is than Ennis. Unfortunately it appears as though kooks like Laurie Daley only watch the games they commentate.

Ennis probably did enough on Friday night to take the spot unfortunately, plus every media commentator seems to have a love in for him, I was sick of JT going on about him. The stats say Farah has it all over Ennis, but the powers that be don't appear to look at them.

Ennis is a team player simple as that… I actually agree with the commentary I don't have rose colured glasses doesn't mean i like it .

You people need to watch these games with the sound on mute. You would realise and learn alot of things and not have to listen to dribbling shit talk.

I couldn't watch City v Country with the commentary, it was horrible.

It looks like there won't be any tigers playing for NSW, and Ennis will be hooker…

I'll be supporting QLD. :sunglasses:

Well, besides JT, the commentary was fine, but I am over this obsession the media has with Ennis, I don't see what they see. Yeah it would appear that no tigers will be playing for NSW, at least for the first game anyway.

I don't think I could support QLD though
