Farah and Gould Interview..

Im happy i supported him through most of the last few weeks. His handling of the situtation was by no means perfect but to those who hammered him based on rumour and innuendo please take a cold hard look at yourselves and reasses your position as supporters of this club.

now for the return serve tomorrow morning on the grill team, pretty sure gordon "big mouth little brain" tallis will spin it all around again. if the peanut brain has any dignity he would let this story die but i've got a feeling they'll try and fan the flames a little more.

I agree mate. I feel for mayer because despite his odd mistake he has proven he can actually run a football club when allowed to (Manly). I think the part he has played in this whole saga has been as a direct result of the a-holes at board level. He is simply looking out for himself by doing what they tell him to do and hope he can stick around long enough until the board is cleaned out and in the mean time mend his relationship with robbie.
The players and the coach are clearly a happy bunch, we just need the patience for the board to be cleared out and then hopefully the CEO (whoever that may be) can see the light as a result. All of a sudden 2015 onwards isn't all doom and gloom at tiger town and we might just be able to deliver on the potential of the amazing playing squad we have assembled.
GO THE TIGERS ! :sign: :sign:

is that not what i have been saying since day one ? thats what was the most disappointing thing, everyone on this forum was choosing to believe the media and it's clowns (johns, tallis, ritchie) rather than taking the words of our captain. At the end of the day robbie would die for our club whilst the media would love to see our club die so they can make a dollar from it. Yet we had people believing the media based on one quote from 15 months ago and a whole heap of innuendo and rumour. Judging by Robbie's comments in that interview most of the hammering he copped on this forum didn't go unnoticed by him either.

You can question why Robbie even cares, but then again when your willing to bleed for the club it would hurt seeing the club's supporters hammer you from pillar to post based on rubbish and speculation.

Anyway hopefully tonights events bury the hatchet and we can all move on like nothing even happened (at least till a decision is made on potts at the end of the year) :sunglasses:

I was with Robbie all these 15 months until this last few weeks where his actions made me think WTF.As he was the first to admit he didnt turn up to training cause he wasnt in the right headspace.I like most people have had a sickie from work cause you are scared at what you would do if your anger levels didnt cool.At the end of the day a cool head is always needed.I do honestly believe robbie has the coaches back now but just he needed to clear his head.

The interview didn't have all the answers, but I thought Farah handled himself well and at least clarified the situation from his viewpoint. **_Having been an advocate of Mayer's previously, it's disappointing to hear that he hasn't effectively come out to support Farah since this situation blew up in the media._**
As for the twat/s who continually leak information to sections of the media, I hope they're identified and given a hessian bag as soon as possible.

Good to see you are finally coming around Willow.

So I've finally sat down and watched the interview in it's entirety and I've got some mixed feelings about this. I've kept my thoughts to myself but I feel I have a better understanding of it all now.

I can understand Robbie's frustrations with his whole situation with Tallis. If I were in Robbie's shoes too I'd be pissed as hell at Tallis for what he did. Tallis is paid for his comments and becomes a more valuable commodity in the media fraternity with every controversy he reveals exclusively for his employer. Tallis has sat on Robbies conversation for 15 months and as soon Mick Potter's position came under fire, Tallis fired that gun when it suited him. His claims that Ayoub backed him in a corner and questioned his credibility was the reason why he mentioned Robbie's name was just garbage. Who questioned his credibility the day before when he mentioned "number 9"? All Tallis was doing was looking for a pat on the back from his bosses at MMM so he can remind them about his efforts when his contract negotiations come around.

As for that fat imbecile Blocker, that dope needs to be anywhere but Concord. He's been trying to get a job at the Tigers for years and he finally gets a gig, what's he going to do? Bite the hand that feeds him? His comments mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. Usually the gutter journo's run to Benny for a comment but obviously they got nothing from him to sensationalize their story so they went to this fat oaf. Wayne Pearce was my childhood hero and I agree that he'd do a good job fixing this joint but there's another name that Blocker failed to mention that would do an equally good job as Junior and that would be Tommy Roudonikis.

As for Robbie's interview, I think that a lot of what he stated left him open for people to say he is a liar and it's up to them to prove it. He's put himself out there left himself exposed for that. Only low bastard with no morals would come out and say what Robbie said if he was blatantly lying. I believe what Robbie said is 99% true.

I would love to know from Mayer why Robbie's support for Mick was edited from the website.

Knowing what I know, Robbie isn't completely faultless in all this saga.

Gus fell just short in keeping this interview as open as possible. It would have been interesting to see how Robbie would have reacted if Gus asked him one question…..

Who would you prefer as coach, Mick Potter or Todd Payten?

If there's any blood to be let, it will be Mayer. I think he's the man who will be sent out to the firing squad over this. It's a shame really as I think he is quite a good administrator, hopefully they give him an opportunity to work under the new board before turfing him.

People forget he works for the board, not the other way around.

Wests Tigers captain Robbie Farah says he and CEO Grant Mayer will "work through" their differences as the club attempts to move on from a dramatic fortnight.

Farah spoke for the first time in almost two weeks in a pre-recorded interview with The Footy Show on Thursday night, lifting the lid on his rocky relationship with Mayer.

The club's longest-serving employee expressed his disappointment with Mayer for not supporting the players, as well as for editing Farah's backing of Potter out of a video on the club's website.

Farah also revealed the pair hadn't spoken from the end of the Dragons game until Wednesday, but the skipper told reporters on Friday morning there was still hope for the two to work together.

"I didn't question his leadership – I said I was disappointed," Farah said. "He spoke to me on Wednesday. We have spoken briefly at training. I told him I wanted to focus on this week's game.

"Me and him will work through that. We are both professionals and want what's best for the club. He is the CEO and I'm the captain. We'll deal with that in private."

On the same day Tigers legend and current assistant coach Steve Roach publically criticised Farah for the events of the past fortnight, Farah said he wasn't prepared to get into a slinging match with the former player.

Back in 2012, Roach went on the record as saying Farah's game "doesn't suit Origin". He has since gladly acknowledged the 30-year-old had proven him wrong.

"I haven't read the paper. He is entitled to his opinion. He is a Balmain legend. I'm not going to sit here and bag him," Farah said.

"I'm used to it. We know what we're about as a group. Everyone can write what they want. It hasn't been nice."

Coach Mick Potter echoed his captain's comments, adding that he would've preferred that Roach kept his opinions "in-house".

"Obviously he's entitled to his opinion but when you're on staff, you'd probably like to keep it in-house preferably. But he's his own man," he said.

Asked if Roach would be kept on the coaching staff, Potter said: "At this stage, yes."

Having finally spoken out on his issues at management level, Farah now hoped the team could now move on as it attempts to keep its season alive with a win against North Queensland in Townsville on Saturday night.

"We just want to move on. I spoke last night and I don't want to talk about it again. I would rather be talking about footy. I think everyone is over it. It's kind of like flogging a dead horse," he said.

"It seems like it's never-ending. There are things I would go back and change. It was a difficult time. I haven't shied away from that. I dealt with it as best as I could and I thought that doing an interview with The Footy Show and I've put it to bed now. I don't want to talk about it anymore."

Grant was unavailable for comment as he attended the funeral of a family relative.

The Tigers fly to Townsville on Thursday afternoon, with Potter confirming that Kurtis Rowe and Keith Lulia would start on the wing, Chris Lawrence and Tim Simona in the centres, and a halves combination of Curtis Sironen and Blake Austin.

Forward Cory Paterson will also make a return from a broken finger.
