"It started off as an ego thing, yeah. Has blown out of whack since.
A lot of it comes down to Farah being the captain in recent times.
Marshall also fronted Farah before the Souths game at the SCG last year (where we got touched up) and told him to take a pay cut so we could keep or upgrade (not sure which) Moltzen's contract.
After that the playing group split somewhat. With players firmly alligned to either Marshall or Farah and of course the neutrals in between.
Now Rhino was part of the "neutrals" up until the Roosters Tigers semi final last year. In that game, right towards the end there was a scrum which was a total balls up. All Rhino had to do was fall on the ball and the Tigers win. Anyway he didn't something happened the roosters go to Golden Point and beat us. After the game Farah blew up at him saying it was dumb play from a dumb player and he single handedly cost us a spot in the Grand Final. Rhino had the be pulled off Farah he dead set nearly killed him. Ever since then he has been in Camp Marshall.
So, you've got Farah at captain then you have players that have been mooted to be shopped around in the media as being Rhino (Marshall) Ryan (Marshall) Fifita (Marshall) Moltzen (Marshall). Gibbs (Farah) and Fulton (Farah)
Marshall is of the belief that the money saved and that the cutting of Farah Gibbs and Fulton would be upwards of a million a year -more than enough to retain Moltzen and Fifita whilst signing Blair.
Although playing like a total busted this year, Farah is extremely important to the team and Sheens knows it. There are no up and coming hookers in our ranks and to get one any where near the class of Farah (when fit) would be close to impossible.
It's up to the decrepit germ who coaches the team to get them gelling again, even if it means giving the captaincy to the likes of Robert Lui while they sort their shit out."
Given the way we have played this year it would give the above some merit.
