Farah, Lawrence & Galloway to tour

Agreed.

Congrats to all the boys. Interesting that Keith is the only NSW prop chosen - does this mean he is now at the top of the heap for NSW Origin selection next year (after his stunning 8 minute contribution lol) or is it just Sheens playing favourites?

Like others on here, I think Shillington and Williams are probably lucky to be there, but they will probably go ok given when given the chance. The most surprising thing for me is that only 1 Dragon made it! :astonished:

The team is very light on specialised players. Yow Yeh and Uate are the only recognised wings, and Lawrence and Inglis the only recognised centres (and GI has an injury to overcome). As Sheens said, they'll be overseas for 5 weeks so have chosen players who are flexible. Expect to see Boyd and maybe even Stewart play some wing. I would've picked another specialist centre instead of someone like Corey Parker where there's plenty of options in the back row.

I don't think Sheens is playing favourites with Galloway. He was by far the form NSW prop this season. Can't believe Merrin and Mannah were chosen ahead of him for NSW.

Congrats to Robbie, Keithy and Rowdy, well done! :wahoo:

It's good to have plenty of the WT boys playing rep footy, for a change! :sign:

Wests Tigers players Robbie Farah, Chris Lawrence and Keith Galloway have today been selected in the Kangaroos Four Nations Squad.

Farah, Lawrence and Galloway are part of a 24 man squad named by the Australian Rugby League for the Four Nations tournament in the United Kingdom.

Rising young Wests Tigers prop Aaron Woods was named in the train-on squad but missed final selection. It was a great reward for a superb season, culminating in Woods winning the Wests Tigers Rookie of the Year Award on Friday.

Wests Tigers Head Coach Tim Sheens is the Kangaroos Coach.

Farah and Lawrence played Test matches for Australia at the end of last season.

Galloway’s selection - his first for Australia - comes on top of his superb season for the Wests Tigers which saw him represent NSW for the first time. He was also named the Wests Tigers Forward of the Year on Friday.

Wests Tigers will also be represented in the Four Nations by New Zealand Captain Benji Marshall and by Gareth Ellis and Chris Heighington for England.

Hard to not see Galloway and Lawrence in the starting 17 although Faffy will have to wait for Smith to get a rest before he gets a run.

The strongest 17 IMO is:

1\. Slater
2\. Yow Yeh
3\. Inglis
4\. Lawrence
5\. Uate
6\. Lockyer
7\. Thurston
8\. Scott
9\. Smith
10\. Galloway
11\. Thaiday
12\. Gallen
13\. Stewart

14\. Boyd
15\. Shillington
16\. Lewis
17\. Whatmough

Congratulations to the guys. Struggle to get a start for NSW, but you can crack it for the Kangaroos!

Must be the few QLD selectors on the panel that have an idea.

PS: I know Fulton is an ARL selector, but how does he justify Tony Williams?

1\. Slater
2\. Boyd
3\. Inglis
4\. Lawrence
5\. Uate
6\. Lockyer
7\. Thurston
8\. Scott
9\. Smith
10\. Gallen
11\. Stewart
12\. Thaiday
13\. Lewis

14\. Cronk
15\. Shillington
16\. Galloway
17\. Watmough

I think Tony Williams is a terrible selection, he was average all year, at one point he was almost out of the 17 for Manly.

I rate DCE, but feel 3 half backs is excessive. Glad they have shown faith in Lawrence.

I think you will notice that it is like having 2 5/8 and 2 HB
as if locky is injured jt will be 5/8 and DCE or cronk are hb's

also cronk is the utility player in place of gidley so the only one on the sidelines will be DCE

also are Hannat and hodges injured??? or Tonga???

I think Lawrence and Galloway are almost certain starters at this point. Robbie Farah could sneak onto the bench and of course reserve hooker for Cameron Smith.

Interesting to only see 2 centres picked in the train on squad, normally there is about 4 to choose from. Lyons or Hodges?

And we have adam blair benji marshall for nz and gareth ellis and chris highno for england what a team go u tigers gl in the four nations 😀

Its an odd squad really.
Only 2 Centres Lawrence and Inglis
3 Fullbacks Boyd, Slater and Stewart.
2 Wingers Uate and Yow Yeh
4 Halves Cronk DCE Lockyer Thurston

Can see blokes playing out of position in the back line, but shouldnt be a major issue.
Farah should get a run against Wales and you'd think Lawrence will start and Keithy should be in the mix from day one.
Good luck fellas

Hodges was ruled out through injury. Lyon simply was not selected.

I'm bewildered with the selection of only 2 specialist Centres (both Left) and one is 50/50 at best…

Surely one of Neilsen, Farrell, Champion, Tate, Thompson, Ayshford or Jennings will be a late call-up???
