Farah to half? Anyone?

Just throwing it up there, as others have in the past, but what about Farah to half?

I have to say from the outset that I am absolutely dead set against playing players out of position, but I think if you throw Politini in for a few weeks (if he isnt injured, not sure?) with Robbie at Half, Benji at 6 and Moltzen at 1.

Benefits.
* You get crisp service one of the ruck either side, depending on the dummy half giving quick ball.
* Whoever plays hooker can do so with Farah on the field to give a bit guidance at the same time.
* We plan for life after Farah
* Saves Farah's energy, as long as someone can pick up an extra few tackles to cover him not being in the ruck
* Gives Farah an opportunity to stand back with a cooler head and call some shots, taking the heat off Marshall.

I don't want to start a forum fire fight, or have someone call me a tool because of a thought. I'm just throwing it out there.

A big no, don't want to weaken one position to try to strengthen another.

No stop gap measures, no fill-ins.

I personally don't think Humble has been given enough of a chance and the same for Miller really.

No please - Humble is going ok and we need to give him a chance.
We are close to getting our team right - will be interesting to see who replaces Rhino

No. Farah to stay at 9
Hopefully this won't be an issue next year when Anasta goes to 6 and Benji to 7.
Just have to stick with what we have for the moment.

I honestly hope that won't be the halves combination for next year, for years Rooster fans have been wanting Anasta to give up the number 6….... he was certainly better at lock in 2010

Farah has been our best half for years. Its a myth that its been tried and failed. Robbie played sone great games at 7 winning MOM awards. He had some low points but no more than what he has in his specialist postion of hooker. I believe Robbie switching to 7 would prolong his career by at least 2 years. The high defense workload and constant bending down is not good for Robbied back.

And something that should be noted…..all of Robbies games at 7 have been with a makeshift 6 outside him and an un-established 9 inside him. The move in my opinion did not fail.

I see positives in making the move but who plays 9? Politoni isnt ready and Fulton is good as a fill in but not fulltimen Maybe Humble would make a good go of it

Absolutely yes. Been saying it since the back end of last year.

Farah can't get out of dummy half like he used to, he is a waste of talent just dishing out the ball.

Get him to half and give him some room to use the ball, I would love to see it.

How's this for left field, train beau Ryan for a game at 9, just one to see how he goes. Beau has enthusiasm and aggression, I'm don't think his fitness would be up for it now but it's just something I would like to see how he goes. Obviously the more likely payer to 9 is Fulton, but I would prefer Nathan Waters had a
Shot at 9, is he still around?

Ala Benji it does not matter what number is on their backs they roam and do what they like anyway! Humble shows more every week and he could be the missing link (he is a QLDer they all could be the missing link?)

I was going to say no but this is true. He is a creative player with a tonne of ability.

The 3 things against it to me are:-

1\. Farah's speed. I am unsure if he has the speed to trouble the opposition with his running game.
2\. I am starting to really like Farah's toughness. I reckon he has been putting in like a true champion. I thought he made a few dumb plays again against Brisbane but that toughness is real good.
3\. Who will play hooker ?????

In the modern game 9 (Farah) usually plays dummy half and the 7 (?) and the 6 (Marshall) play either first or second receiver.
The Tigers problems are not at 9,6 or whoever plays 7\. It's at whoever plays in the front row with Woods and 1.

You know we are struggling when the Farah to 7 convo pops up :/

Personally it's a no for me, it's been tried before, it hasn't worked. Humble is doing ok and has played some 7 at various levels, as has been said, our problems are up front.

We need to play the future half back If Miller is the future he needs to be there now

If not Sheens needs to tell the fans so and go with the best utility at 7

Not a bad idea, I can see Sheens thinking about it with Humble and Meaney sharing the hooker role.

With regards to Miller I'm thinking Sheens doesn't see him as the future, poor guy doesn't know if he is coming or going.

Someone tossed up Ryan as a hooker a few weeks ago, think it was Ink….not sure if he was serious or not. The first reaction is "what the hell"...but after it sits with you for a while some positives emerge. Actually, a lot of positives emerge and the only question mark is his ability to give clean service.

Beau is regarded as one of the fittest players in the comp, and he would relish being in the middle doing the hard work. His speed out of dummy half and his heart in defense would be a real bonus. It would also allow us to throw more speed out wide in a youngster like Noufalouma.

If Farah was to move, the idea of Ryan at 9 isnt as strange as some may think.

I posted earlier in the season that consideration should be given to moving Farah back to 7 but I don't think there is a need at the moment as Humble is playing the game he is being told to play by the looks of things.

To me Humble looks rushed in everything he does and hasnt worked as well as i thought he would at 7 (so far). Looks like a nippy little hooker to me.
