IT'S been five long seasons since Wests Tigers last smelled the air in September football and captain Robbie Farah can almost taste it. Almost.

Provided the Tigers can jag one more win in the remaining five rounds, they're in the playoffs.

But Farah wants more. Much more. Not content with a top four finish, Farah has urged his teammates to push for the minor premiership.

And what better place to start than Saturday night's clash with South Sydney at ANZ Stadium.

Still stinging from what Farah calls "the turning point in our season", the Tigers want to avenge the 50-10 embarrassment from round 10.
"It's no good getting touched up like that and then letting it happen the week after or not taking anything out of it," Farah said.

"We learned from the mistakes we made on that day. It was definitely a turning point in our season the empty feeling we had that day.

"But we've had eight wins from 10 since that game.

Fire up tigers. if i were tim sheens i would be putting up all the atricles from that game in the dressing sheds to remind the boys of that woeful performance. with souths down on troops we should and will win by planty IMO!!

Don't just say it Faffy, do it!!! Where's Ben Galea when you need him? His self belief was one of the reasons Wests made the Top 4 in 2005\. It's time all the boys came out and backed themselves and one another. Trust, confidence and honesty can determine a lot in a football team.

Hey Robbie and co - We the fans want more as well, highly likely even more than you guys do….

It should all start this weekend. There is really no excuse to lose to the Rabbits, they are well down no troops.

On form I give us no hope of top 4, however if we win enough games to hold down 4th then we will be in great shape for the finals. A bit of self belief never goes astray.

Confidence is what you need Tigers - belief that you can do it. Unfortunately we have all given Benji a pretty hard time re his goal kicking, but if he is the best man for the job at the moment, have confidence that you can kick that goal. Good Luck

True. Confidence is what is needed however on the field - where it counts - there has been a distinct lack of confidence lately. They need to walk the walk, not just talk the talk.

I'm really hoping the Tigers get out there and play an up tempo game and get off the line quick in defence, they're such a more dangerous outfit when they do that and with Souths missing most of their forward pack, they won't get a better chance to claw a win off them.

I agree Willow, and so much is gained from a great defensive game - it creates enthusiasm and gives momentum in attack and we're all getting desperate to see it!

Souths is one of the teams, that despite all our class in the backline, we'd stand little to no chance against at full strength due to their pack being a lot bigger and stronger than ours, and would pretty much dominate it. However, with it dwindled to only a fraction of what it is, we're definitely in the drivers seat.
