It was only his first hit out for the year and coming off groin surgery but Iam not sure if Robbie is a 80 minute player anymore. I should I put it another way, Iam not sure the team is best suited to Robbie playing 80 minutes. I will probably get shouted down, but I think a ten minute rest a half would do him the world of good and maybe give us some more imapct with some zippy fresh legs out of dummy half. Each year Farah is doing more and more defensive work and that is impacting on his attacking game. This year I would consider giving him a break and see how it works. Iam sure he would not like the idea but could be the best thing for the team

1st game back and I thought he played well for us. I'm sure once we get into the swing of it you'll see Robbie back to his best. His combination with Benji and Moltz in the opposition 20 will 9/10 lead to points. I'll back him to have a massive year.

Coming off groin surgery and playing only one trial he was always going to be short of a run. I think he'll need a couple of matches before he finds his legs again. Not too worried at this stage.

I really don't think we can afford to have Robbie as a 60min player.
That would mean Sheens replacing his 5 minute man number 17 on the bench with someone who can actually play a possible 20\.
I think Farah needs to dominate again and I get the sneaky feeling that with Moltzen effectively being the "3rd" playmaker, Robbie will once again be a solid attacking hooker in the NRL.

Most NRL sides interchange their no 9 and get results. I know Farah is not your run of the mill no9 and directs a lot of the tigers plays. I just think the writing has been on the wall for a while that we need a little more impact at times and with Farah playing 80 minutes and doing 40 odd tackles the petrol tank at times is running very low. The question is,do we have a suitable player to do the job if Farah is off the field?? Humble I think could do a fair job. Also it would give another player some experience in the role

I've been asking this for 12 months now… Farah is getting older and isnt immortal, but I feel this is the right option as we become too one dimensional some games.

Obviously if Farah is injured we have Politoni, but I'm not sure if Pat is a suitable option to have on the bench. My choice would be Jacob Miller as he is a perfect option for the bench to give Robbie a rest or inject himself into the game if we are stale in the halves.

I must admit SC, the natives have been nice to you so far for making this suggestion!

I think if we are to change up at all that Politini will play on the field the same time as Farah and Robbie will slot into a second haldback role and hooker with Rowdy or Aysh defending in the back row slot.

It gives us the fresh injection, allows Farah to ease his workload at points in the game, keeps our captain on the field for the 80 and makes us a harder attacking unit to defend.

That being said Farah played the way you would expect from a guy in his first game back from an injury layoff so I doubt we will see much change this year

If we were to run with Supercoach's suggestion I would rather they use Humble I think Politonis progress would be stalled by playing 10mins a week.

Depends on the scheduling of NSW Cup games compared with the NRL games week to week as he may be able to play both alot of weeks.

The service of Humble & Fulton just didn't seem up to scratch for mine if we want to do more than tread water with Robbie off the field

Groins are not an injury you would want to be playing in stints with, they cool down, they get reinjured more often than not. I agree last year Robbie was not as effective due to injury (back/groin) but I think the bigger reason was the way the game was reffed with markers being able to stand where they wanted without getting penalised. We need his kicking game as well so Id be trying to get 80 out of him. I agree with others give it a few weeks but with no injury and a preseason get ready for Farah to dominate again in 2012.

Hopefully with the changes made this year and how they decide to rotate the forwards he can get himself out of the middle a little in defence and won't need to make as many tackles.
Remember last year we always had a forward holding Lui's hand in defence (well at least on his shoulder)- so there's at least one other guy to block up the middle!

give yourself a double uppercut Guys

His our Leader and Heart and Soul of your

The give yourself another uppercut for good measure

from what I saw at training Poliniti isn't ready for FG, if Farah is injured then Fulton is our only option

Politoni is far sharper out of dummyhalf than Liam I am sorry to say.

This is it CK, and I think teams have smartened up to it. They're deliberately sending traffic Farah's way in order to blunt him in attack, much like teams do to Gallen and Mateo. Utai would be a good option for scooting out of dummy half, despite his lack of speed, he can pick up metres with defenders hanging off him but lacks all round skills to be a decent hooker.

You have to admire Farah for putting his hand up and doing the dirty work when needed, but he needs to be shielded a little better.

Ive been thinking for a while that this should be experimented with to see what effect it has on the team. Then a more perminant decision should be made. Its hard to tell if it would be good or bad until we try it

You guys are kidding. Farrah at full fitness is the 2nd best hooker in the game behind Cam Smith!!

Last year he struggled with his groin and still played strong for us. He defends well, has a decent kicking game and provides great options in attack. We also don't have anyone else in our squad who can play hooker anywhere near as productive as Farrah so why would u even think about replacing him or wasting an interchange. Give him 4 weeks and he will prove u all wrong. The only thing I would say is that I wish he ripped in more as captain or maybe give it up to Ellis!!

Last year their we're a few times when the team needed a rocket up them and he didn't utter a word behind the goal line. He needs to fire up more and rip in when the team is playing rubbish. I think his everyone's mate and is scared to put them off side by speaking up!!

Wasnt it the Ben Galea/Robbie Farah stubborn go like this Sheens used years ago?
None of you remember that?
It was NOT good.

I think it's a good idea and should be explored, i know he is important to our side and having him on the park for as long as possible is a good thing, but surely you can't be productive for 80 min especially playing hooker. It also might fix the problem we seem to have sometimes when our attack just goes a little silly. having robbie on for 60 min with a fresh mind and more energy as well as having a young enthusiastic hooker come on and ad spark seems a good idea to me. Politoni is more than capable imo.
