Hey all,

Just wondering your thoughts on why we are tending to fade in the last 20 minutes of a match? We need to turn it around this game because the saints demolished Manly in the last 20.

I always am worried with how long and how intense the 'warm-up' is pre-match. It always seems to me that Folksey has them working for twice as long as other teams. That may not have mattered in the normal rounds, but the intensity of the finals might be bringing this into play.

Thoughts?

Semifinal one: Playing with 14 men and 12 on the field

Semifinal two: having played 100 min intense game the week before and canberra getting alot of calls toward the end.

Wont happen this week the boys are well prepared and ready!

I know some may disagree, but im a huge believer in ones self conscience and i think we should be avoiding our negative tendencies and concentrate on Saints'…....i.e. choking. Once something is built into someones self concience its extremely hard to erase and very likely that the same thing will keep happening.

So forget about us fading, lets talk about Saints choking

Gotta admit the length of the warm ups in the past has crossed my mind in the past

/\ Tiger rock is on the money imo /\

Wests Tigers warm up is the looooongest in the NRL…....

Fitness, Fatigue....Steve Folkes...

The week off will stuff with the Dragons momentum....

We have it...Choke on that St George...

I have started to think it is a combination of our bench being used sparingly and that we try to protect a lead rather than palying footy.

There is also a tendency of referees to ref losing teams back into games this season which hasnt helped.

And yeh I agree lets focus on the chokers.

Semifinal one: we tried to protect our lead 20 minutes out
Semifinal two: we are tired from 100 minute game and 5 days recovery.

i don't see it happening here and hearing how we are a "60 minute team" when we are ranked "1" for points scored in the last 10 minutes is kinda silly..

guess i know how dragfans feel when they get called chokers lol :brick:

The thing im worried about is, sure we have a good record in the final 20 minutes overall this season.
But you look at our fadeouts lately, like the Rabbitohs match and Parra. All very similar games to the ones we played in finals where we dominated but faded at the end.
So im not sure if you can totally put the excuse on the Roosters game.

I think if anything its our defence, sure its great at first, but the way they charge up out of the line, I think it sucks a lot of juice out.

I don't think there is a problem with fading in the last 20 minutes either.
I fear that deviating from the game plan is more of a potential problem.
