Finally, our number 7 is about to arrive.......

I was at a game years back where the Dogs were playing. At the time Anasta was 'the' young star of the game.

Low down in their reserves was a kid making his debut. A mate of mine who is a good judge said to me "this kid is going to be much better than Anasta". I just laughed and said "whatever…...."

That kid was Thurston.

A couple of years ago I was in a box at LO with some Tigers people when Lazarus walked in. All the people there basically said "he's the guy".

Injuries de-railed him, but class can't be stopped.

Mark down tomorrow as the day our search to replace Prince officially ends. Once he gets in, he'll be there to stay. He'll be a better player than Moltzen (who's also excellent). He'll be our gun half beside Benji for the next 5 years.

Mark it down. Lazarus' time has arrived.

(Note: If Tim moves Fitzy to the halves, I'll officially give up. LOL).

6\. Benji
7\. Lazarus

The combo that we'll be built around for the next five years fellas............

Moltzen should have replaced Prince when he left. I have watched Lazarus play quite a bit, including his last 2 games for Balmain Ryde Eastwood and I think he should get his shot at halfback against Parramatta on Friday.

I expect Fitzhenry to be either wearing the 6 or the 1.
Sheens will find a place for him come hell or high water

Moltzen should have been half in 2007?? Geez and other people criticised Sheens for introducing Moltz to young.

I have no doubt Lazarus could handle 7 or 1 for us.
He looks a cut above and has been crueled by injury
He is also a very very good goalkicker which is another issue for our side.
Benji is not the long term answer to goalkicking

Sheensy is VERY keen on Moltz at full back. If you look at today's media quotes, he's basically said it's way too early to disrupt the whole thing by moving him and Lote.

Lazo straight in.

Kicking game? = Hell yeah. Long and short.
Passing game? = Yep.
Organiser? = Yep.
Talker? = Yep.
Goalkicker? = Yep.

I've got a massive opinion of this kid. It's Lazo time.

I am going on Friday night and then to Rosehill for the guineas on Saturday.

If Sheensy puts Fitz in the halves….........I'll dead set just give up. Whatever $$ I and my Mrs would have spent at the footy on Friday will all be going on shoot out to win the guineas saturday instead.

No way Sheensy plays Fitz in the halves. It's Lazo time :sunglasses:

I'd guess there's no chance of Fitzy being put in as 6, but he is a genuine contender for fullback this week because of his experience and relative safety under the high ball. He is adaptable and could occupy left wing if Sheens wants to run Lote at fullback for 10-15 minutes. Sheens said Lote wasn't ready for 80 minutes at fb, hinting that he might be ready for a short stint there.

Fitzy is a fill-in at tis stage of his career, but he might be the best one we have. Don't knock the Fitz!

The obvious option at 7 is Moltzen. I think he should be there anyway, whether Lui is fit or not.

As Geo pointed out to me when I pushed for Lazarus at 1 in the preseason (mainly for his goalkicking, if nothing else) Lazarus has hardly played in two years and needs some time on the park before he takes on NRL.

It's yet another sarcastic comment. Fitzy won't be in the halves.

Fitzhenry in the halves wouldn't surprise me, but I doubt it.

I haven't seen much of Lazarus, my only concern is he seems very small. How is he defensively?

I hope you're right.
I trust you (& a lot of other good judges on here) that this kid is the goods. Unfortunately I don;t trust Sheens.

Defensively, even if he's not crash hot, we no longer need to hide Benji in defence so we can afford to carry one guy who needs a bit of time to adjust to defending. Hell, he couldn;t be any worse than some of the 'efforts' we saw yesterday.

I want

6\. Marshall
7\. Moltzen

Why? Because it works.

The Fonz is killing us and killing Moltzen by having him at fullback. How many shocking games does he have to play in that position?

Lazarus at 1\. please.

He will be a good in both positions but lets go with what has been tested and passed at NRL level.

Lazarus has been tried and tested at NRL level? Really?

I guess accordingly to your policy we shouldnt hand any debuts to our young players this year?

I saw Lazarus on the weekend and he was the difference in the teams ( I actually think Wests looked alot better). I saw him a couple of years ago when he and Moltzen took Balmain nearly all the way. He's not big, and he dropped off a few tackles on the weekend but he was a true halfback…might be worth a go. Is it too late to get Shannon Gallant back?

Great read cnx_tigers.

I reckon you are on the money. In fact, there a few bookies telling everyone Lazo will be the new 7 come Tuesday.

I cant wait. Lazarus is the man!!! The man to replace Scott. The man to lead our forwards left and right. The man to allow Benji inject himself at leisure rather than every 2nd play. The man to kick goals as good as Hodgo. The man to lead the Tigers to Premiership glory come October 3, 2010!!!

(Its great to hear a voice not jumping up and down that Moltz isnt at 7.)

Yeah I know, but I disagree with those people because Moltzen was the best option at the club at the time. Instead they went with Morris in the halves which was a worse option.

well he isn't short. i remember reading he is around 185cm in height.

I mean the halves.

The story was about including lazarus which is what i agree with, but have a tried and tested halve pairing.

What is your 1, 6, 7, ?

Would be good to see Lazarus give a go there if it can be Moltzen. Speaking of Fitzy I wonder if there has been any thought of-
9 - Fitzhenry
7- Farah
I wouldn't be a fan but as we know Robbie has been given the 7 jumper before.
