Hi fellow forumers, fires are now a threat to us here in the Southern Highlands,I haven't been able to open Ziggys bar and grill due to evacuations and fire threats..
I will endeavour to update you all as things progress..Iam here at home with my family to assist when needed..
I don't know how things are at the café as I have not been permitted to enter the town because it has been evacuated and is confirmed as a danger zone ..the business as far as I know has not been under threat atm.
May I please send out a big thank you to our services,RFS,SES,Firies and ADF,these people are our real heros who have made great sacrifices to help others right through the entire fire zones.Shane Fitsimmons is a true leader and legend with his co ordination of his volunteers and work with the ADF to strengthen our fighting crews, also may I thank all the people of the communities who have selflessly supported our fire fighters and given food, clothing and necessities to the people who have lost everything..we are a strong and generous country ….WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH THE TOUGH GET GOING...That is us.
Please anyone in a danger zone be safe and sensible, get out when told your life and families lives are more important than replacable property..
I will keep you posted when I can..Last night we had to wet down the guttering as a huge fire erupted at the Moss Vale resource centre,it is now under control and I have to clean up ash and embers..God Bless all and stay safe...

fingers crossed for your bar.....but more importantly make sure you and your family are safe mate.....all thoughts going out to you and yours, and everyone in your area.

Hope that all works out well for you Zig and this doesn't affect the beginnings of your new life and business venture much further.

It is a reminder of the huge costs to community that are separate from life and individual property loss. The lack of income for the thousands of businesses and their employees that rely on tourism will have long and far reaching effects, as many areas will need a year or more to recover.

Sadly and possibly much worse, we have lost so much of our fauna and it's likely that in some sections of our parched lands they will never recover.

Well past time for some to look at the long term balance of the costs in keeping some pockets full and doing as little as possible, versus the benefits of leading and implementing change.

Hey champions, the café is still standing, however 9 homes destoyed in Wingello and 6 in Bundanoon …
This cool change has brought some rain although very little...the RFS people can gather some breath and get ready for the weekend, apparently it will be in the high 30s by Friday..

I will keep you posted when more news comes to hand...

today I seen 4 helicopters fly overhead 2 were water bombers and the other 2 may have been ADF not sure..
