First coach sacked this season

Any thoughts on the first coach that will be sacked or stood down this season
I think the 2 big contenders have to be Brian Smith or Steven Kearney
I will say Kearney will be first gone
Anyone else care to take a guess ??

Logic should say Dave Furner if they fail early but it won't happen with Don there. Brian Smith is probably the most logical. Kearney has friends in high places at Parramatta and he will most likely see out his contract since recruitment has been done on his terms this year.

Yeah I looked at it that way also but thought Parra may take two out with one shot if they are travelling badly meaning that Ozzy will go as well

Osborne is gone already. Unless the Parra board get ousted, Kearney will be allowed to see out the next two seasons I'm told.

Seriously Bugger missed that
I didn't mind Osbourne (as a Player) Who replaced him ??
Sabre I reckon you would get bloody good odds on that happening
Be worth throwing a couple of bob on that

Brian Smith. Put your house on it

I'll go one better and say he'll be replaced by Matthew Elliot

Wasn't he an abysmal failure as a CEO. A lot of stories floating around in the press that he was a sly, conniving indivdual. No surprise realy considering the man is a polotician. His last two years were a far a cry from his first yr when Parra were riding a wave and he was very cocky

Michael Maguire - a major disagreement with Rusty after Souths crash and burn, yet again :unamused:

Poor old Brian Smith - is there a year he doesn't get (or nearly get) the sack from some club?

No way it'll be Kearney they have big wraps on him at parra. I'd say it'd be Dave furner. His brother don has taken himself out of the decision making process in regards to the coach to avoid an obvious conflict of interest so my bet's on Dave going first

johnny cartwright will be put under the pump if the titans fail to improve kearney will be alright his bought decently to plug holes that he he inherited and furner will be fine expect the raiders to go well this year top 8 with the sharks. smith will struggle to remain after this year

Carty, I just don't think the Titans have got a good enough side.

Smokey is Wayne Bennett, if he doesn't get along with Tinks.

Wayne Bennett is an interesting choice - i think he will see out his first year regardless of how the knights go but the 2nd year is a different proposition altogether - Tinkler has shown in the racing industry that he won't accept anything but the best and isn't afraid to sack high profile people - could be some interesting times ahead in the Hunter.

Yes Flip I think Smith could be walking on the tight rope and possibly the bloke at the sharks if the team doesn't perform with the new signings.

Smitty usually walks away from clubs.

Furner methinks..

I've heard somewhere that Cartwright effectively has a job for life at the Titans - I don't actually think he's contracted to them - he's paid as a Full-Time Employee - subtle difference, but harder for the board to oust him.

Bennett is a brilliant smokey though, Marshall_Magic - and your reasoning is sound.

Another smokey would be Ivan Cleary, (I've tipped the Panthers for the spoon) with Phil Gould taking his spot.

The writing is usuallly on the wall though and he alwayz has another job lined up
