Fishing Thread

Not anymore thankfully, just recreational fishing now, the lake is teaming with heaps of species. I recently caught a 3FT Cobia from my boat near Pulbar Island (then released her), some big muddies around Dora Creek with a torch and a net. Just take enough for a feed and let the rest go...
Some big sharks in the lake now also..
Lost my passion for fishing 30 years ago, stalking shallows was fun. Stingray is still very under rated, Dora Creek was full of hillbillies back when, they would bite your toe's off before any creature. Bloody good workers from memory.

Me and a good mate of mine like a bit of fresh water fishing as a change so every two years we have a week at Copeton Dam Inverell chasing Murray Cod. Been doing it for last 20 years. We always catch fish, cod, yellow belly and redfin.
We always do catch and release, except for the redfin which are great eating. Biggest cod we have caught was 86cm until our recent trip in October.
We both cracked the magic 100cm. Mine going 104 and his 108. Never seen two happier blokes in all your life.

I seen a tourist shoving half a dozen rods into his little bubble this morning, getting ready for a day on the line. It’s a bit late for me, but it’s high tide in another hour, so he might get lucky in the right spot when it gets still. Otherwise I hope he likes practicing his casting.

I think this is the right place to ask ... after we beat Parra and gift them the spoon, hubby and I are heading up to Port Macquarie for a couple of weeks of proper rest, relaxation, and recovery, before we both head back to work. He's taking his fishing gear. Any tips on where to go or what to try for? Please and thank you 😊
Hey Suz, how did ya go that weekend?
Did ya’s get a line in? Catch anything?

Guys just went for a hike on some high ground overlooking the ocean man it's massive, 10 feet plus 7 levels of white water spectacular to look at.
I was at Bonny Hills today, it was big and rough, not for the faint hearted, but a nice curl out the back. A few of the younger guys were gunna take it on after work.
To big for me these days.
