1 Down - Wests Tigers winger in 2005 grand final (6,9)

Did you know it straight away Yoss or did you have to think about it?
Due to his versatility i don't natural visualize him as a winger but the question did narrow it down.

Off on a tangent boy wasn't Patty Richards a great player for us, i was a bit bummed when he went over to the UK. He was one of my favorite players when he was playing for us, I will never forget the size of the kicking tees he used, looked like he had custom made it from a witches hat he had found on the side of the road. Arggh 2005 what a magical and historic year!

Didn't one of the teams we were playing against around the end of '05 complain that Pat's kicking tees were illegal and he had to stop using them so big after that for the rest of the season? Might of been the Cowboys at Campbelltown game from memory.

Yeah he had to stop using them because they were a cut off witches hat completely against the rules but also harmless.

That was for one game at Olympic Park.

In the travels there was no kicking tee that he used for kick offs (left at home?) and Melbourne had nowhere you could actually buy a NRL regulation kicking tee.

Melbourne complained about it being illegal. Considering the Cap rorting they were found guilty of it is quite funny in retrospect

Oh the irony, complaining about the size of the kicking tee yet they had two salary cap books

He got some height tho….remember a kick off at Cambo v NQ the game we cemented a finals spot...skando eventually scored after a k/o rebounded of tthe upright and we regatherd

Good old Fitzy....remember a game against Stains at Telstra one year, he was having a Barry....I yelled out to him "Hey Fitzy...", and was about to give him some advice when he turned and looked directly at me 18 rows back from the fence in bay 105...so much so it put me off and I forgot the advice, just waved and said "G'day"

Surprised the clue wasn't "Most despised person before Tim Moltzen and Tim Sheens by the Wests Tigers Forum"

Then again you don't want to make it too easy

Hey Ink ,did he wave back and say G'day

Had the same experience with Hopoate in a trial game in Rockhampton , he was carrying plenty of kilos and just gave it to him every time he touched the ball

Picked a different meal from every fast food joint I could think of "Hey Hoppa ,want me to get you a Big Mac now " etc

Last one was "Hey Hoppa, and he looked at me and I thought he might eat me 😱pen_mouth: " and my reply was "Good run"

I was sitting in the Grandstand one Sunday several years back and Fitzy was having a Barry Crocker and had dropped another ball. I was about to let him know what I thought in a raised voice and started, 'Fitzhenry you….' when a lady behind me tapped me on the shoulder and said before you say anything untoward you should know that Daniel is my son!!!! I kept my mouth shut and he ended up scoring a try and we won lol

Oops!
After 2005 I thought the only place Fitzhenry looked was at the grass.

Yeah I had it covered pretty quickly. His name has been mentioned a little bit on this forum lately. He probably played the vast majority of his games for us on the wing but of course he started off at 5/8 with Benji at Half!!
Poor Fitzy was a bit unfairly bagged on here but he was a dreadful fullback.
