I cant really see the point of re-signing off loaded players, while Skando was a welcome re-addition, in a position where we were severely lacking…I cant see Fulton & Heighno in the same team...and Fitzy, well I dunno.
Im seeing a trend...I dont like it.

I agree Ink, although the Tigers look to be going for the cheap "depth" signings, as it has hurt the team in previous season when injuries have hit, maybe they think the extra experience Fulton and Fitzy offer may help. I wouldn't have either in my top 17 and it sounds like the top 25 isn't finalised yet so I don't believe Fitzy is part of it, but Fulton probably is. Both players would be of benefit to BRET and Wests though.

You would not have Fulton in your 17?

Not much of a judge of a footballer are you?

I cant see room for Fulton. He just doesnt offer enough penetration in attack for me and whilst he is a good defender, he is not a dominant defender. Sure he has good hands and is quite a skillful backrower but I prefer a backrower that can put a dent in the line and is a handful to contain. Fulton is none of these.

I hope he proves me wrong because I like the guy and for many years I thought he would be something special.

It will be interesting to see where Fulton ends up in the team - while I am a fan I don't think he is a walk up start for round 1.

In your opinion of course. With the current crop of backrowers in the Tigers ranks I'd be starting Heighno at lock and Liam can play State Cup until injuries hit. He's too small and offers no penetration in attck, granted he can tackle, but he's not a dominant defender either.

To be honest… this is my exact problem with fulton, sure he makes 35+ tackles a game.. but very rarely do those tackles slow the play the ball and he's a lock... he should be making alotta tackles!!!!

I think he'll be in the side for his defence alone, considering we lost Morris and Galea.

I hope Fitzhenry is not in the side, but I'll believe that when I see it - Sheens lovechild.

Every time I wake up from this bad dream, the "Fitzy to Tigers" thread is still there.

I still find it hard to believe. I think it's a conspiracy by the FWO. The Fitzy signing was announced on the Official Wests Tigers webpage though. Perhaps the FWO have infiltrated Camp Concord???

What a joke.

I don't care if he signed on for $100\. It would be $100 wasted.

He was woeful 3 years ago. What will be be like now?

He have done a decent job getting rid of all this dead wood and then bring back the ultimate dead wood.

 Classic. I wish I read that before I made my Hitler Wests Tigers video…

**"Fitzhenry is a very experienced player and will assist in providing leadership to the younger players in the Wests Tigers squad."**

This quote of the WT announcement is my favourite bit. Who else better to lead and teach the younger players than the club's highest ever tryscorer and WestsTigers former captain?
Before Fitzy left for Hull KR, he was ALSO a leader in the leadership groups set up by the CURRENT Australian coach.
Just think of the legacy he will leave behind by leading these younger kids around, we could have an entire generation of champion players who model their own game off Fitzy's to come through for the next decade!! Exciting times!!

I had a very bad nightmare last night. Daniel Fitzhenry was wearing the number 9 for Wests Tigers. Robbie must have been injured or it was during State of Origin. Sheens would put Fitzy at hooker, would he?

I wonder what Fitzy will be mentoring the young guys in….

1\. "Fellas when you run with the ball go sideways first, then allow yoursewlf to be dominated in a tackle until the referee yells surrender. This will allow the opposing to team to lay on top of you and yourself to have a bit of a breather"

2\. "If an awesome player like Mark Gasnier runs at you show them respect by getting out of their way and not obstructing their path to the tryline. The crowd will appreciate your gesture as will the coach and other team mates"

Seriously I am lead to believe that Fitzy is a hell trainer and he may be there to mentor the young guys about proper preparation etc

I still remember the 05 semi against dragons (and the early dragons game that year) every bomb that went up I had to walk away from the tv that night couldnt watch.. he dropped the first one that night and with 10 to go actually caught one but got smashed into touch!

he isnt worth it

Exactly, throw in the ability to teach them how to run in circles,we don't need someone to help them train now Folksey is on board,a waste of money,Pritchard and Davis could do the same for less money. 😢

he did look good at the back end of 2005 😱pen_mouth:

So did Halatau and he hung around for another 4 seasons without doing much …

But I reckon Fitzy will be used as a backup hooker, not on the wing. Remember Jason Moodie 2.0?
