Would anyone else like to see him get alot more game time next year? If his contract is extended that is.Im a big fan of his and think he could develop into a very credible second rower.
Your Thoughts?

I like the bloke but to be honest I don't see him getting much time at all next year unless we have injuries or he plays out of his skin in the reggies. We have a lot of depth coming through the forwards especially the back row.

Great squad player, will fill in and probably get around 10-15 games a year depending on injuries.

Can't see him being a top 17 player with eveyone fit though, him and Fulton are too similar and too small for us to carry them both most weeks. Won't let anybody down when asked though.

I think thats hes a decent player but to be honest not really. I think considering we already have Heighington, Ellis, Fulton, Payten, Murdoch, Dwyer there is no room for him in the team. And even if injuries were to strike, Id still prefer players like Roqica and Mataka given a go before him.

Good fitness, good defensive workrate, but too small to be a really good backrower. The Tigers had him hitting it up the middle and his go forward was pretty ordinary, he's 10kg too light.

I like this guy as most do - An honest toiler.

I see him in the Fulton Mold in defense.

Didn't offer much in the way of offloads or meters gained however it was his first year in NRL and only in his early 20s.

Worth a spot in the top 25 for sure.

im a big fan of him but i dont believe he should get a run infront of our starting backs or dywer, payten and fifita. great for depth though

Spot on.

Seems like he gets on with the guys really well too.

Will do a job to cover for injuries, but doubt he will ever be strong enough to make a fully strength 17\. Great squad player to have though.

Should always come in when Fulton is injured. I could only see him cementing a permanant spot if he put on at least 5kg. And lets face it, he could afford for some of that weight to be fat as he's extremely lean. Bryce Gibbs put on fat and it made him a better player so if i was Flanno, id take that same risk.

Dunno how quick he is,but if he doesnt bulk up he may wish to consider improving his speed off season & becoming the reserve back (ie Fitzhenrys slot) who cld also fit into the back row??
Wld be a shame to lose him,but ATM he's neither a 1st grade back or a forward

would love to see him on a bench of 2 props and 2 back rowers

if sheens goes per usual and carries a back, i just dont see any room for him

I think he is good for depth. He is only young and he will probably improve with the more experience he gets.

Wests Tiger Flanagan eyes Four Nations Ian Laybourn

Wests Tigers' second-rower Mark Flanagan is a surprise contender for a place in England's Four Nations squad.

The 23-year-old has just finished his debut season in the NRL and has impressed with his versatility off the bench for the beaten semi-finalists.

"Mark is in the mix. He's had a good season across there and we'll make some decisions over the weekend," England coach Steve McNamara said.

Flanagan's Wests Tigers team-mate Gareth Ellis will definitely make the squad after proving his fitness, along with England's two other Australia-based players, Melbourne's Gareth Widdop and South Sydney's Sam Burgess.

"Gaz (Ellis) is fine," added McNamara.

"He was struggling for a couple of weeks with a back injury but he's through the other side of that now."

Another player who I have question marks over keeping. He's a very fit, well disciplined player who definitely punches above his weight, but I really don't know who to drop. The fowards played remarkably well in the finals series and I believe all deserve to keep their place, also he really doesn't have much impact, and presuming he stays the same size he is right now I don't see his impact on the field increasing. Beefing up is the only option.
