Matty Johns show got canned by seven mainly because their complimentary AFL show tanked and they weren't prepared to go with a show that just went out in Sydney and Brisbane with no similar show to match it in the AFL market. Seven apparently wanted him to go on later but Johns wouldn't go up against Ch 9 and apparently he has a clause in his contract that his show has to start before a certain time. The show was too expensive to put on Maaaaaaaaate (Seven's main digital offshoot).

There quite a few league shows on Foxtel (NRL is on Wed@730 I believe, NRL teams is on Tuesdays, sure there are others). I believe One-HD have some new NRL shows but I don't know timeslots.

The Wednesday show on Fox is pretty good. Detailed analysis and some fun stuff like the prop's pentatholon.

9.30pm on Monday on OneHD is 'One Week at a Time'. Adam Hawse, Ricky Stuart (Adam MacDougall will be on during origin time) and Ben Ikin are the boys. A pretty good show in my opinion. Its all footy talk. A serious show. Usually has a guest-host for a fair share of the show. Have had Inglis and Tuqiri.

8.30pm on Thursday on OneHD is 'The Game Plan'. Andrew Moore, Steve "Blocker" Roach and Joel Caine. Little less-serious than the show above. Has a couple of segments with past players. Dean Ritchie from The Daily Telegraph grills someone on a chair while everyone else is behind a desk which makes strange viewing.

how bad was the footy show on thursday? they spent so much time on that bbq segment i fell asleep! i watched one week at a time on monday though, that was pretty good

One HD Program - one week at a time was good this evening.

First time I caught it.

Ricky Stuart was very honest and the format is simple.

I will make it a weekly must from now on.

I like the League Lounge although I think they could of went with another host instead of Warren Smith, it sort of gives the show a bit of a 'sameness' because Smith has hosted so many other shows on Fox. James Mathison and Brendan Cowell add a nice funny touch without being plain stupid like the footy show at times.

I'm not sure what has happened to NRL tactics on Tuesdays but they still show 'Chooseday Night Football' which I always like, good to watch some of the old names from the last 20 years or so.

They stopped showing Origin Classics from the 90s and 00s on Thursday Nights at 7.30pm, they now show classic grand finals around that time which is still good but I actually prefer watching the SOO archives. I guess it brings back more memories and gives me a more nastalgic feel as I wasnt around in the 80s!

I know of the League Lounge on Foxtel, but its on a little too late for me, epsecially on a sunday night, the footy show on channel 9 with Fatty Vautin is rubbish. NRL on fox on Wednesday night is good, the Sunday Roast is good and the 11am Footy Show is also good, NRL tactics was ok as well, but it seems to have been given the heav ho, not sure why. dont mind chooseday night football either, something to watch at least.
