Foran to renege on Parra

Kiwi Test superstar Kieran Foran is set to walk away from his four-year $4.8 million deal to join Parramatta after the Eels have attempted to alter the terms of the contract.

The Daily Telegraph can reveal Foran has got cold feet after a change in the Eels management structure, with the departure of CEO Scott Seward leading to Parramatta failing to recognise certain elements of the agreed four-year deal.

Essentially, the agreed contract has dissolved and can become null and void because the Eels are attempting to change it.

The NRL is aware of the situation, with salary cap auditor Jamie L’Oste-Brown monitoring it closely for the past month.

Couldn't happen to a better team hahaha

Wow! To be fair 1.2m per year was overs so this is probably Parra gently getting out of it

They are…....but 4.3mill over the paper bag cap...

Apparently CEO Scott Seward agreed to 2 clauses in his contract...1 he can leave at any time and 2 Foran gets a 1mill payout if he does....wow..

That something we would have done in the past

Makes you wonder if that million would have to be cap dollars ??

Lol, it just gets better and better for Parra…
So glad it's them and not us in the spotlight for a change. :sunglasses:

Wow all right… That's simply irresponsible in RL circles, especially for a club with so much debt.

The greed of winning that ever-eluding premiership is toxic!

Thankfully we don't have ambitions like that.

Regardless of the 2 clauses these arent the actions of a man who has bought into the Parra rebuild. More like one who is looking for an exit strategy.

Foran to the Roosters, deal probably already done.

How can this happen we are past round 13?

Think it's a June 30 deadline- and I don't think contract has been registered by the nrl yet due to their salary cap

This is delicious. Probably explains why Scott Seward decided it was time to go back to Melbourne. Sounds like he wanted to be well out of shouting distance when this cluster decides to go atomic!

The round 13 rule only applies to the player having the option to decide on remaining with his incumbent club over the new club he has signed with. Has nothing to do with altering of contract conditions or the like which is the case here. In any case, if the contract is not amended I would say Foran is still obligated to stay as the contract that was signed has not changed, and if they do amend the contract, Foran is within his rights to walk, with compensation from what has been reported and is able to still sign with another club other than Manly.

I prefer Foran over DCE… Manly will be spewing!

Can build a club and a culture around Foran, Can't build shit around DCE - With that long neck and no shoulders….
