Did anyone ever make bolt bombs?

Two large bolts, as big as you could find, one nut that fit, screw nut onto one bolt just a couple of turns leaving room for the other bolt, after filling the nut with the phosporous scraped off about 20 matches, add other bolt, tighten…throw and RUN!!!

Yeah those things were a bit sketchy if you didn't throw them far enough away! Remember my older brothers playing Fireball with their mates, soak a tennis ball in turps or petrol, light her up and stand around in a circle using it like a hackysak! Haha, hopefully no impressionable youngsters are reading this thread!
Remember having ging (shanghai) fights in the local bushland, face off from 30 or 40 metres and fire rocks at each other, bloody miracle no-one got their eye taken out.

Born in the 50's
My dad used to take me to every Balmain home and away game game when I was a kid. I remember a game at Lidcombe Oval (early 70's) and Paul Cross was one of the wingers. He made a length of the field break and scooted down the sideline. When he got close to the try line he did this huge swan dive to score, just inside the corner post. Only thing was, there wasn't anyone close to him and he could have strolled under the posts. My dad couldn't stop laughing.

Also remember a game at the old Sydney Sports Field against Eastern Suburbs, Len Killeen kicking at goal, 10 metres in front, and missed.

My favourite memory was at the SCG playing South Sydney, not sure if that was the game that the queen attended, but Laurie Nichols was shadow boxing after we scored and a few Souths supporters got upset and were having a go at Laurie. Within seconds there were dozens of Tiger supporters in to help Laurie.

But you are all right - conversation is becoming a lost art. I see so many people in restaurants on their mobile phones, completely ignoring their partner or friends. Sad really

paul cross could run alright- he was also part of the easts team which didnt win a game in 66.
cant disagree with you cqtiger, but if you dont try to keep up with technology you are left behind.
this forum, for instance .is a benefit of societys change.

but i certainly rouse on my kids -visitors who bring their phones to the dinner table.

Yep no tech aloud at my dinner table and my kids and their friends know, they actually enjoy the conversation. It's sad cause some actually tell me they don't eat at the table at home and either eat in their rooms or in front of the TV.

Eye, I'm not against technology - in fact I only browse this forum on my iphone, but as you say, there is a time and place for it.

Does anyone remember the ice cream called " hazelnut roll", was a favourite of mine.

Always enjoyed the " festive season", and still do, only annoying issue, now you rarely get to see the Rankin / Bass versions of, Frosty the snowman, Little drummer boy, Rudolph, santa claus is coming to town. They were on each morning, and again n the afternoon.

50c in the 1880's must have been a fortune Flip

Don't say you need a One Foot in the Grave former to tell you they were no cents in those days but farthings, pennies, half pennies and they didn't ruddy come from Heaven.

Patten Park Magpie does
They weren't bad…. Had a log of chocolate in the middle and flash foil and metallic colour wrapper

The perfect dessert after a main meal of chiko roll

They were the clay figures they moved frame by frame, I even remember an episode with Fred Astaire.

Remember every Sunday watching world championship wrestling with fine upstanding fellows such as bulldog brower, king Curtis, brute Bernard etc. Fellows that shaped society
